What happened to all my strategic resources?

Hmmm, it is true that resources are a little scarce in C3C, but that doesn't mean you have to go to war to get your hands on them. I mean you can always trade them in for something else. The only annoying thing with this approach is that you can't trade for certain resources until the AI has reseached the techs that make them appear on the map.

Or you could, *gasp* go without a certain resource for much of the game -- easiest to do with, say, saltpeter, although no horses is also not terminal....

Saltpeter is by far the easiest resource to do without. For defensive units, I'd rather build two 30 shield 1.3.1 pikes than a single 60 shield 1.4.1 musket. For offense, just keep building those 30 shield pikes and 20 shield catapults, and then upgrade them once you acquire rubber. Use your infantry/artillery stack to slowly roll over the AI, and you're set.

I can live with the scarce resources but I've noticed the SR's don't get traded. I've got 3 Aluminum resources and no Uranium but when i start talking trades with the AI none of them show any resources even though I know they have them and none of my Aluminum show. Is this a bug?????

They have to know the tech to be able to trade a resource that becomes available with that tech.
