Warren Spector's Civilization: It's a shooter/RPG/RTS/Plankton Sim, funded by Warner Bros. Anyone who tries to make a clone of the game or mod it is sued.
Shatner's Civilization: in Modern/Future age, barbarians will try to sell you Tek , other drugs and sexy services. Game crashes if you name your leader "Riker".

Kieth Laumer: It is in the form of Final Frontier, but has multiple maps for when planetary invasions happen, with a limited amount of turns per turn for battles occurring. Humanity is pretty much surrounded by hostile enemy, because they are fighting a war with the second most powerful species. Humanity is still much farther ahead then that species, but the only reason both sides have stopped using planet destroying weapons is they ran out of them.
You have a space navy, tanks, infantry (they die in seconds), but no artillery or air force....your tanks have a few dozen artillery guns on them anyways, and they have three guns each that have megaton yields and can fire every 3 seconds, and can hit orbit. Your navy's main weapons for capital ships is the exact same thing. Also, your tanks have AI's with more humanity in them then most humans currently alive in game. not exactly hard, as humanity is fighting a war of extinction, against a enemy trying do to do the same to man.
And your tanks speak in a deep baritone vo-FOR THE HONOR OF THE REGIMENT
After all, the only counter to a bolo is another bolo. or a Concordant Fleet...but those are basically bolos with a large crew and a lot more guns and a few much more powerful guns.
