Well, if Germany was somehow able to capture UK/ blockade it ... to keep the Americans from landing there .... America's early short-range nukes wouldn't be able to threaten Berlin.

If Germany had won the war, then their giant submarine base in the Antarctic would not be a secret, but a tourist destination showing off midcentry school of architecture. America would be the same, except instead of an Astrodome, Houston Texas would have an Astrogeodesic Dome.

Should the Axis have won (and that is assuming America wouldn't have gotten into WWII), my guess would be the Axis would begin fighting eachother, albeit not directly.

Well then why did Hitler order the 6th army to commit collective suicide at Stalingrad? And then went into a terrible rage when Paulus didn't follow those orders?

Or the various Home Guard units (forget their exact name) which were little more than children and their grandfathers sent out to battle the Allies in both east and west during the last days, effectively another suicide mission?

I think its safe to say that Hitler and certain sections of the Nazi regime (Goebbels comes to mind) was either quite willing to make the German people sacrifice itself, or simply couldn't care less about whether they did. The Heer and German people on the other hand had quite different ideas on the matter.

Whilst the Nazi party were still in power however what either wanted didn't really count for much, although undoubtedly many of those young boys who had been indoctrinated through being in the Hitler Youth may have been another matter.

Oh and the name of the German old men/boys force was the Volkssturm.
