What is a pseudoreligion?

A main issue with religion is that it seems the church heads/figures are virtually always quite nasty people. The current patriarch of Byzantion is a good case. The man served in the turkish army (bound by law, 'freedom and religion' means you serve in the army there). I suppose god wished him to. Maybe he will later on wish him to do other sad stuff too, so i'd rather he played no role at all. He gives a very bad vibe in my view.

Most of the bishops here also seem quite bad. Some seem (on the surface) to have quasi-decent qualities, but not really 'spiritual'. I have to suppose that only in the monasteries there are many people of the church who one can have a reason to term as spiritual/religious. Some of them appear to have been very ethical, and on the other side they seem to have a rich imaginary (or spiritual? who knows) life, related to visions of god and related work. Some others in the monastic order give the impression that they are broken-down people, and i hope they don't suffer, but so many people break down by now anyway.

So yeah, in my view the monastic orders are far more likely to have religious/spiritual people, in the church. Afaik in christianity the largest interest in such orders is in the orthodox world. I suppose that would be good, if it did not have the effect that the bishops/heads are apparently as corrupt/nasty as in other religions.

I don't think the church has a monopoly on what is considered a religion.

It doesn't, but one cannot make comments about the general public which follows/doesn't follow a religion. While one can have a general view of a church.

Thus lies the trap of religion.
