I remember reading something about settler factory a while ago, I don't remember what I'm supposed to do and I can't find it again.

Can somebody please explain?

Sorry for the noob question :crazyeye:

EDIT: And sorry for the bad grammar. I'm tired

Plural means changing y to ies. Really, spellcheck it. factorys =/= factories.

This is no noob question. Settler factories require disciplined micro-management. It took me forever to check them every 2 turns and make changes(but I am a lazy). Read the above thread, get into the habit of checking your worker/settler factory cities at the end of every turn , until you get used to having them -- then it becomes just plain instinct.

Whenever I have a settler factory, I only have to check them every other turn, or every 3rd turn. This is when they grow, or after they finish producing the settler. You can let the governor manage what tiles you recieve on the IBT growth even without the governor on, that's what's the key to settler factories.

Thank you all :D

You should check all your cities every turn :nono:
What! All 511 of them?

Oh dear, here we go then...

Berlin? Check!
Leipzig? Check!
Munich? Check!
...
...
New Bremen? Check!
...
...
Hamburg 2? Check!
...
...
And finally, New Dortmund 2? Check!!!

Whew! 1hr 43mins and NOW I can end the turn.

More like...

And finally, Hamburg 21? Check!
.. (Or whichever city that is built last)

I simply refuse to play the game in a way that I do not find fun. Sorry Wacken and all you accountants out there, when I feel like doing drudgery like that, I'll get a job with the government bureaucracy and get paid for it. :crazyeye:

He didn't actually mean that, he was joking, right?

Wow, you guys take your 'micromanagement' seriously. I do micromanagement, but I don't check 300 cities every turn!

Half joking, half serious.

I don't really check every city when i have that many. I just make sure i can easilly recognise those that don't need MM any longer (like putting them on wealth while those that still need MM produce artillery) But still i often have to check 50 cities every turn.

For a solo game I'll MM the sheilds in my most productive cities w/ reallocation and/or short rushing and I'll MM all my high food 1spt cities to pump out beakers and workers/settlers/wealth. It's the tweener cities that get put on autopilot popping out arty and stuff.

And because this can be a major task I don't play anything bigger than a standard map and more likely small.

And although I guess I could claim I'm MM 75% of my empire each turn it doesn't need to take that long.

Same here. In the early game, ~until the IA, it's every city every turn.
You don't have like that, and of course, everyone may feel free to play the game like you want - but that exactly is THE way to beat Deity/Sid.
