Because of the large amount of standard concept changes that go beyond the simple adding of CIVs and Units, I was wondering what level you are going to play your first game on?

Warlords, but that's because I suck at this game. :(

Prince definately, I've won on Emperor before (just), so a move down is no real problem. Blake's new mod will worry me, will my old straegies work? Will the AI leave me alone long enough for me to gain a tech and military davantage or just attack me ASAP?

I can't wait! Role on BTS!

I normaly play monarch on warlords but I decided to try it on prince for the first game. The AI is supposed to be significantly improved and it would be nice to survive to the modern age to try all the new stuff.

I'll try Prince, which I'm still working to master on Warlords (getting close at this point). If I get annihilated, I'll move down. If I am competing at the middle or top of the pack, I will stick with it. I suspect I'll probably be in the middle of the pack for awhile, but that I'll almost invariably survive to the modern age to try out the new goodies.

I'll start on Noble, but if I suck big time, which if the AI really has improved to the extent that it has been made out, then I may well drop back to Warlords.

I play nobel, so I'll probably drop to warlord.

I'll start at Monarch, but perhaps I should drop down to Prince with the Better AI and all the changes, but I figure the AI will lose some of its bonuses so Monarch won't be too tough. I don't want to play on too easy of a level because then I'd have the game won before I reach the late game additions...

Noble.

I wonder if anyone admits to start at Settler. :p

That would be me. My standard procedure is to start at the bottom after an expansion, or possibly a patch , to remind myself that I'm re-learning the game.

Otherwise, more of my old habits and strategies will carry over from previous versions. I still have to force myself to build more cottages rather than roads when I need help help my cash flow.:crazyeye:

I can win at Prince, which is what I tend to play on lately, so I'll probably move down to Noble until I get adjusted.

I can definatley win on noble easily, any higher, I haven't tried. I will either play noble, warlord or settler, just to see what's new without the AI buggering me.

I played Monarch, than dropped to Prince after the 2.08 patch and eventually returned to Monarch, but with all the changes and the vastly improved AI I'll play my first BtS games on Noble.

I can beat Monarch 2.08 but pay often on Prince to allow odd strats and variants. BTS ? three factors; better AI, nerfed AI bonuses, a lot of gameplay mechanics that we haven't optimized, and won't optimize for some time to come.

So my hope is that Prince will deliver a tough game with not too many silly bonuses for the AI like massive tech/resource trading between annoyed AI civs.

Also the tech trade restriction might alter the ideal level.

First game Prince.

Noble always, I like it that neither I nor the AI has any special advantage.

Do you think anyone will actually start on Deity? I think we may have a couple liars ;)
