What is your favorite map setting to play on?

I like to pick maps to suit the civilization I am picking. I tend to play on harder difficulty but give myself some advantages at start; such as Legendary start position.

If I am going to play Kongo then it's a Hot and Wet game. If Egypt, Hot and Arid. Russia gets Cold. Etc.

Or did you mean Continents vs. Pangea vs. Fractal?

I generally go with Fractal or Pangea and Normal or Large size. But I find Inland Sea to also be enjoyable. The sea-going part of the game is kind of lame but when you do Inland Sea and just put it all right there for everyone it's kind of good.

Fractual, legendary starting position, abundant resources, standard size.

Continents; large map, will probably shift to huge in a game or two.

For now it's Small Continents

Standard Pangea whenever trying a civ for the first time, even if it's a naval-inclined civ like Norway or something. That feels like the most standard, basic set up to play with, so I like to try and win at least once that way on deity before trying other maps with a civ.

I did the same thing in Civ V.

Beyond that I'll still usually play pangea with some fractal or continents games too.

Prince for testing, emperor for some thought. Higher is just a bit broken rather than challenging.
Everything else just standard for the moment. I will change as I play more but am not bored of standard across the board (continents)

I played one island game and as I love playing Vic I am saving a few games for around Christmas.

Speed: Marathon
Map Size: Huge
Map Type: Continents

Resources: Standard
Temperature: Standard
Rainfall: Standard
Sea Level: Standard

All victory conditions except Score/Time

I've tried a few fractal games but I didn't really like that the entire world could usually be explored without having to traverse the ocean. I would really like larger maps with Terra option again. :)
