As the title might imply, what is your favorite song played on the piano?

I'd have to say mine is The Entertainer, by Scott Joplin. This is played quite a bit in The Sting.

"In Your Own Sweet Way"

-by the legendary David Brubeck.

I don't really listen to piano music, but I like it when I play for myself "Mary Had a Little Lamb"

i goddamn hate pianos, and people who can play them too.

i specially hate those bigass pianos, dunno what theyre called in english, man id love to break one of them bastards.

Piano is in my top three instrument along with guitar and saxophone.
My best piano part, surprisingly, is only a short moment of a jam in the Gun's n roses live era version of "Move to the city". I like jazz piano a lot more then classical.

They are called grand pianos because they are just grand in every sense of the word. I'll kill you before you even get a chance to go near a piano, understand. ;)

ah comeon, you dont wanna do that, you might hurt one of your delicate piano playing fingers if you tried to punch me!

the tragedy!

Used to be the first song of Melancolie and the Infinite Sadness

Bachs oh damn forgot the name of it we did ages ago on the classical music thread.

Toccata and Fugue in D Minor

Technically that's a church organ peice though.

Imagine's quite good and Bohemian Rhapsody of course rocks :)

EDIT: found a link to it, in case anyone doesn't know it, frankly I never recognise any classical pieces from there name and few but the more refined do, Thus spake what??? Oh you mean the theme from 2001. :) Damn doesn't work never mind

Beetoven's 5th Piano Concerto in E Flat, Op. 73, "Emperor," particularly the third movement (Rondo: Allegro ma non troppo). I have both the Alfred Brendel/Simon Rattle/Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra (Phillips)and the Wilhelm Kempff/Ferdinand Leitner/Berliner Philharmoniker (Deutsche Grammophon) recordings. Brendel is a better pianist, but Leitner is a better conductor.

Technically that is not a song.

I really do not have a favourite song, but my favourite piano pice would a Rhapsody by Liszt. His Spanish Rhapsody.

@Sidhe, the title that you are looking for is the title of a movie that was recently released. It is described as Jumanji in space.

YEY! used to play the piano- its about the olny song i can still play! :)

Actually I do know Beethovens 5th it's probably one of his more famous pieces, if you haven't heard it or heard of it you'd have to have lived on mars all your life:)

I'm listening to Liszt's spanish Rhapsody as I write. Thank Luv Muffin for that Singingfish web site, any classical piece of any note found and played in seconds. What a gem that is. :)

Now listening to that too :) I agree it's better than the 5th IMO. :)

Beethoven's 5th and Toccata like everyone else...
But i must say that <Yanni - One man's dream> is really good too. :)
I like some more but i don't remember them right now.
