What is your most feared Unique Unit?

I'd have to say Roman Legions, once they get into your land they are hard to dislodge with that high defensive score... @ a close #2 would be Gallic Swordsman- so darn fast and hard to catch... Least with the defense of two you can stop 'em if you can hit'em- Or make'm run away atleast.
Immortals don't scare me to bad, since you can kill them with a counter attack, and even standard horse men stand a good chance of taking them.

sipahis get me nervous; I've never actually faced them off in a game though; I generally make it a point to take the ottomans; and mos tother other civs with lat emiddle age/industrial UUs long before they have access to them.

The best way to deal with MWs is to trade Iron to the Iros. They'll almost completely stop building MWs :wallbash:.
The AI doesn't care for the speed, and thus the choice is between a 3.1. and a 3.2. unit for the same costs...
Hiawatha will get some MWs because of the GA trigger, but mostly Swords.

That's so simple, it's brilliant. Thanks Doc! :goodjob:

Most definatly the berserk , because of this unit you have to get double or triple protection in all you'r coastal cities where they normallt would be covered by a few knights/cavs.

The Beserks... Cause I hate building a lot of military units... and they always come and thrash my towns...
And then the half naked running men in tights(Celtic Swordsman) for the same reason....

Russian Cossack 6/4/3
Good attack, Good defense, Retreat capability. You can't destroy them and they hurt.

Once, I have seen a stack of 100+ Cossacks (Russia had spent the game in peace building Cossacks ona Pange at Emperor level). I have not been able to stop them, though I have reloaded several times. Even try to burn my own cities, cut roads, leave cities empty to try to split Russian army in several stacks, sold everything to rush build military units...

I completely agree!
Cossacks - the most balanced horse armies of the late Middle Ages and the beginning of an industrial era. When I play Russia Cossacks make a basis of my attacking and defensive armies. :smug:

I would say the javilan thrower when you have barbarian levels high. Lots of slaves :D:D

1st: Immortal, because they have the MidInfantry attack and defense for a tech that can be learned first.

2nd: Berserks!!! they are amphibiuos and a civ doesnt need any resouces for it. besides a 6/2/1 its worth the extra sheilds
