What is your occupation?

Let me be among the first to welcome you to CFC :goodjob: , your royalness...highness...whatever :)

What was that movie with John Goodman as King Fred or something?

Something like King Ralph...

...the idea of an American on the throne makes me cringe!

I'm a Vice President of a Swiss pharmaceutical company. I get to travel the worls and do interesting deals.

To get here I've rattled test tubes in a lab, sold stuff to retail stores, managed small businesses, planted trees, dodged bullets and annoyed governments.

Got degrees in Chemistry and Business

I've just finished my 1 year general conscription. (Damn the Norwegian State!)
Now I am planning to take money back from the state by becoming unemployed. And it pays pretty well.

Unemployment benefit should be taken away. In market based economies, the survival of the fittest applies. Tough sheet if you can't get a job, go get some education or join the army.

I'm retired Navy. I was an Electronics Warfare Technician (EW) then became a Cryptologic Technician (Technical) or CTT when they merged. I could tell you what I did, but then I'd have to shoot someone:)

A small world indeed. I was the Electronic Warfare Officer on a Spruance-class for a couple years, worked with the CTs as well (although not in any way requiring beyond-SCI clearances).

I completely agree with you 100 %!

That doesn't mean I won't take free money for doing nothing, it is too good of a deal to pass up. I'll vote against it, but when it is around, I'll take the money along with the no good lazy folks who take it.

Scientist, pretty interdisciplinary.

I've published in various fields: Environmental Science, Inorganic Chemisty, Physical Chemistry, Atmospheric Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Earth Science, and Atmospheric Science. I've done lab work most of my life, but now primarily design and run simulations. I've started doing some high energy physics in this vein.

Science been berry berry good to Chico.

I think up and make boxes on a white board!

edit: the really interesting part in that sometimes they are in different colors and shapes. :love:

I'm a newly qualified science teacher about to start work in an inner city school in Manchester.

Oh god :p

Architect. 3D modeller. Occasionally I also function as an interpreter.

@Pirate
So great to find a colleague here! :goodjob:

@carlosMM
That has got to be one cool job! The stuff I do is mostly static, with only the camera (and occasionally lights) moving to create a walk-through presentation. I'd kill to have a chance to learn animating living creatures.

Doesn't that make you a no good lazy folk as well?

I am the 43rd heir to the British throne!

2nd cousin to Prince William...

You aren't counting on that are you? Hope you don't give up the day job. :)

Scientist, but I never wear a lab coat, never use a bunsen burner, never work in a lab, never work in the field - sometimes I feel like such a fraud.

I keep college coeds at a major NE university warm at night.

No, really.

I know you said you were a big man, but........, oh I get it- environmental control right?

Yep. I am 1/5th of the staff that mans the 24/7/365 energy management office. We diagnose, troubleshoot, and dispatch all manner of HVAC breakdowns, schedule equipment preventive maintenance, schedule HVAC cooling and heating cycles to save energy, and monitor temp, humidity, and even CO or CO2 levels, plus monitor and control fume hoods for labs, run lights in several buildings, etc...

But it's a lot cooler-sounding to say I keep college coeds warm at night, don't you think?
