Hey guys. I was wondering what kind of dlc you'd like to see in the future. I've got two that I'd really like to see

1. The Wonders that Never Were
A collection of buildings that would have been wonders had they ever of actually been completed. To make it interesting they should require completion of a social policy tree (possibly a tech as well) as well as a significant amount of resources like 5-10 iron or aluminum. Here is my brief list of suggestions:

The Magnificent Mausoleum of Phillip of Macedon : Tradition tree must be completed
Justification: In Alexander’s will he called for the construction of a new mausoleum for his father. This would surpass the Egyptian pyramids in grandeur. His generals didn’t comply with this.

Great Temple of Khan Tengri- Honor tree must be completed
Justification: Tengri was the greatest of the Mongol/Turkic gods. He was Khan of the skies. There is a mountain in the Altai region named for Khan Tengri, perhaps the wonder would have to be built by a mountain.

Curia Hostilia: Liberty tree must be completed
Justification: Original Meeting place of the Roman Senate, they basically took over some pre roman ruins for these purposes, but this was quickly torn down and replaced by a succession of buildings for the Senate.

Hassan Tower: Piety tree must be completed
Justifiication: This famous Moroccan Minaret was to be the 80 foot tall centerpiece for a magnificient mosque. Work began in 1195 and stop a few years later with jut a 40 foot tall half completed minaret and no mosque.

Tatlin’s Tower: Patronage tree must be completed
Justification: This wild unbuilt structure was to be the headquarters of the Communist International

The Illinois: Commerce Tree must be completed
Justification: This ambitious American skyscraper would have been twice as large as the Burj Khalifa if it had ever been built

Space Station Freedom: Freedom tree must be completed
Justification: This ambitious Reagan Era Space Station project never came into fruition but the basic plans plus Russian plans for a new mir laid the groundwork for the international Space Station

Volkshalle: Autocracry tree must be completed
Justificiation: This gigantic structure (which you could have fit St. Peter’s Basilica inside) was to be the centerpiece of the Albert Speer’s New Berlin had Germany won the Second World War

Palace of the Soviets: Order tree must be completed
Justification: Gigantic Soviet mega project cancelled by the war. Was to be the largest skyscraper in the world topped by a Statue of Lenin even larger than the Statue of Liberty

The Grand Cathedral of Reason: Reason tree must be complete
Justification: During the French Revolution there were attempts to create a Cult of Reason that was to replace the Catholic church. They even had a “goddess of reason”, portrayed by a live woman to prevent idolatry. This movement was eventually suppressed.

And I'd suggest one final wonder that would require a tech instead of a tree...

Shimizu TRY 2004 Mega-City Pyramid: Requires Nanotechnology
Justification: Ambitious proposed project for construction of a massive pyramid over Tokyo Bay in Japan. The structure would be about 14 times higher than the Great Pyramid at Giza, and would house 750,000 people. Basically it’d be an arcology.

2. WW2 DLC

I’d also like to see a WW2 scenario DLC that added alternative leaders to the various wartime civs. Certainly at least Roosevelt, Churchill, DeGaulle, Stalin, and Mao or Chiang Kai Shek should be added. I understand that the axis leaders would be generally more problematic to include, but Firaxis could probably get away with adding Emperor Hirohito as a leader for Japan. As for Germany, it’s unlikely that they’d add Hitler, but the leader of the vanilla ww2 Civ4:BTS scenario, Von Pappen, was essentially the German ambassador to Turkey during the war. Perhaps a famous German general who wasn’t particularly tainted by warcrimes could act as Germany’s leader in the scenario (like Rommel, Guderian, or Manstein). These same leaders could act as alternate leaders for the civs in standard games.

3. Finally, and this is getting more into expansion territory, I’d eventually like to see each civ get 2 unique units, 1 unique building, and one unique tile improvement. For instance Suburbs could work as a unique tile improvement for the United States (acting somewhat like the towns in Civ4) France could have the maginot line style forts as a tile improvement, Japan could get a seaweed farm that could be built by workboats on any coastal tile, etc.

What kind of dlc do you guys want?

None. We're up to what allmost 100 bucks now for civ 5?

I don't mind paying extra money for things that I enjoy, actually it's what I use most of my money for. I appreciate the effort by the OP but I'm against fantasy elements in Civ 5 outside of future era. For me the DLC I'd like to see would be a Third Crusade theme with Saladin and Richard the Lionheart.

I prefer a focus on Civs, since I feel you get the most value for each Civ. If they add other content, it should be like this - in a package to save money. Even then, I'd prefer far more than three wonders (maybe a combination of wonders, units, and improvements, but at least 5 wonders if I were to pick an arbitrary number).

If they have wonders, they should be more modern. We've got plenty of ancient wonders right now. They also need a UI overhaul so you can select which DLC packs you want in the game and, clearly, those with the same DLC should be able to play it with each other (ideally, in MP games, even for those without).

I'd still be fine with Civs and Scenarios, and maybe at times, some extra stuff like Wonders/Units/Buildings/Whatever thrown in along with it.

I'd like to see a lot more extra civs (each with a nice scenario), especially in double packs (2 civs, 1 scenario).
Some great ideas I saw on this forum are:
* a Zulu/Dutch-double pack with a 'colonize southern Africa'-scenario.
* a Celts/Carthage-double pack with a 'Roman Empire'-scenario

Also I'd like to see a scenario-only DLC, with, say, 5 scenarios (like a WW2-scenario, a Napoleon-scenario, etc).

And also a religion-DLC, to have the possibility to put religion into the game.

I'll go with none. All of the DLC have added up to $41.90 which will soon match the cost of the original game. Don't look at me, I'm just answering the question.

I'd like to see a free DLC. Don't particularly care what's in it but the DLCs are getting pretty ridiculous. How they can justify charging $4.99 for three wonders and some scenarios is beyond me.

I'd also like to know how it is that Babylon, Polynesia and Korea and each cost $4.99 for a total of $14.97, Spain and Inca cost $7.49 together and Denmark and Vikings cost $4.99 together. I can get two civs and scenarios for $4.99, I can get two civs and scenarios for $7.49 or I can get two civs and scenarios for $9.98. What makes one more expensive than the other?

Okay done with off topic portion of the post. Would seriously like to see another free DLC. We got Mongolia a year ago for free so its about time they gave us another one for free.

I like your wonders that never were idea. That'd be interesting and unique! X-seed 400 would be a good modern era wonder for that one!

Also Dutch, Dutch and Dutch builder civ puh-lease!

well, first let me clear up some things in your post:
"denmark and vikings" is one civilization, not two.
and the reason why buying two dlcs bundled together is cheaper than buying them separately is because you're buying them bundled together. when you buy things in bulk, they'll usually cost less money than when you buy them individually.

but anyway, a free dlc wouldn't be too bad of an idea, since you're the second person i've seen mention it for the one year mark. so put me down for a free one, too.

A free one is probably the only one I'd get.

I'm glad you like the Wonders that Never Were idea! Also, I agree that the X-seed 400 would be perfect for this. Maybe it'd work well as a mod, though I'd love to see the 3d graphics of the palace of Soviets looming over a mighty, and fully ordered Moscow.

Basically, I really liked the idea of extra wonders as dlc in general, but for 5 dollars I'd want to see more than a measly 3 great wonders.

I'd also like to see more civs added in general though they should add a couple civs per pack just to make the price more palatable. Hopefully, we'll luck out and they'll give us another free dlc civ in the future, like the Zulu, Portugese, or the Dutch.

Also- I'd love to see a real earth map with true starting locations that I can play in multiplayer.
