What kind of DLC would you guys like to see?

Oh I see now...

Quebec replaced Oslo and Sydney replace Copenhagen when Danish DLC was released...

I stopped playing Civ 5 after I got fed up with it on my XP OS with DX9 :(

Did it get better?

I got temped by Korean civ

It has great OCC potential and I will enjoy playing small&tall Science focused empire.:)

Huh... maybe it's time for me to dust off my original+Babylon DLC pack and update with the new Civs...:p

Better in the sense of more diversity of play and better synergy of strategic choices, yes. If you're talking about system requirements, the answer is probably no. They got rid of the worker calculation bug, which was a major cause of slowdowns, but it's still a system-intensive game.

Still, you can friend your maritime Sydney with Korea if you want. Alternatively, if you're hesitant, you could wait for a sale before buying all the DLC. Although if you get Korea, it's probably worth the 2.50 to get the extra wonders (I know the price isn't spectacular, but it's better to get it bundled so it can be cheaper overall).

@Louis XXIV

My PC itself should be able to handle it fine... I think it was more of DX9 problems. I have been putting off upgrading to to win 7 until now (I am a very cautious late adapter)

I think I will wait for the next sale to buy every DLC civs then finally update my PC to win 7 with DX11 for gaming...

Hopefully the upcoming sale is bundled with yet another new civ and wonders...

I am kind of a 'completion-ist' I cannot bare the weird feeling of knowing that I have an incomplete game :) either I stop playing it or I play it with full experience...

Oh back to the topic of this thread...

On next DLC I'd love to see some new 'Modern Wonders' since we have the ancient wonders added now...

And of course a new civ... perhaps a civ representing Eastern Europe...

And I really really want to see Jerusalem as a city-state so I can place it in the Arabian sphere of influence and befriend it to piss Arabia off :) (I like to role-play in civ games) <- I should get out more :)

I always want to see new civs, in every game of the civ series
Preferably in bigger expansion packs of course, not necessarily in DLCs

Besides the 25 already released ones, I have quite a few suggestions/requests:

1st tier:
Sumeria, Maya, Dutch, Portugal, Hungary, Poland, Carthage, Phoenicia, Zulu, Ethiopia
These are nobrainer. Historically very important or quite distinct from the usual civs (culturally/ethnically/geographically), and all of them are very popular

2nd tier:
Sioux, Mississippian, Apache, Congo, Swahili, Assyria, Hittites, Byzantium, Khmer, Mali, Celts

3rd tier:
Nubia, Vietnam, Majapahit/Srivijaya (Indonesia), Austria, Bulgaria, Sweden, Israel (Hebrews), Huns

3. Finally, and this is getting more into expansion territory, I’d eventually like to see each civ get 2 unique units, 1 unique building, and one unique tile improvement. For instance Suburbs could work as a unique tile improvement for the United States (acting somewhat like the towns in Civ4) France could have the maginot line style forts as a tile improvement, Japan could get a seaweed farm that could be built by workboats on any coastal tile, etc.

No pls. This would make the game more wacky and FA would be forced to adopt some very gimmicky Unique things. Some Civs having UBs and some not gives nice variation.

The celts or a spesific Celtic nation Ireland or Sctoland
Ireland Gaelic Warrior, 1916 warrior
Cultrure of Ireland gives 2 culture per wonder and scentific bulding
Leader: Brian Boru

None. It's time for an actual expansion. Bring back stuff like religion and espionage and then we'll talk. :)

Moderator Action: I split of the recent posts from here into this thread. Please use that thread to discuss civs that you would like in the game.

If we are not going to see an expansion i would like to see DLC which introduce new mechanics.

If an expansion is released i would be happy to see DLCs which focus more on gameplay like new technologies, units, buildings; or a focus on more graphic content like more types of forests and land tiles, look of units diversified based on culture of civilization, more natural wonders.

With the number of civs we have already got new releases is a low priority for me

The modern age has a few rough edges needing straightening out. No marines, no airports, relatively few wonders - no implementation of the Internet - primitive implementation of the UN, no ICBMs.

There are no scenarios for the Renaissance or later periods. No American Civil war scenario. No Rome scenario.

No Zulus. No Cathage.

No implementation of espionage whatsoever, not even a simple spy unit for exploring enemy land without open borders (getting troop positions etc).

No explorer unit.

Primitive spaceship victory, where you win instantly as soon as you add the last part to your ship.

I think there's plenty in the early game ...

Forgot to mention newly-themed city states ... for example religious ones (something new and exciting), scientific ones (moar beakers), industrial ones (enhance your civ's production). How about city-states that prefer certain social policies and you gain more influence with them if you adopt the same? Probably will never happen but would be nice :)

How about trade routes between your cities and city states that you are connected to and friends/allies with?

An airport building that increases XP for air units and enables trade connections with the capital? (Very useful for landlocked cities that you cannot connect to the rest of your empire by roads?)

I would prefer an expansion, rather than small DLC. Something similar to what Firaxis did with Civ 4: Colonization. So:
  • Alpha Centauri (changing it only to hexes and 1upt) .
  • A new Colonization based on Civ 5 (perhaps it's too soon from the latest release).
  • Master of Magic (with 1upt changed to 1 army per tile and combat like in the original).

Release of a new mechanic will likely accompany an XP release or a gold version release with the core game, all the DLCs plus the new 'expansion' content.

I think for the next six to ten months, we'll finish out the wonders, with each era getting a few new wonders, and likely 1 new building per era, with the ancient era already spoken for - stoneworks.

And patching.

That sounds good.

I would like to see new unit skins to match their respective civilizations, much like the Europa Universalis III skin DLCs. The reason I buy DLC civilizations is for the graphics (diplomacy screen, units, wonders, etc). This may not be as important for some, there are plenty of Mods out there that create a fun gaming experience that don't include high end graphics, but I crave Dev quality graphics for city skins, improvement skins, unit skins, wonder movies etc. I of course would rather see new graphics simply patched into the game, but there is a low chance of that happening.

I'd like to see a lot more extra civs (each with a nice scenario), especially in double packs (2 civs, 1 scenario).
Some great ideas I saw on this forum are:
* a Zulu/Dutch-double pack with a 'colonize southern Africa'-scenario.
* a Celts/Carthage-double pack with a 'Roman Empire'-scenario

Also I'd like to see a scenario-only DLC, with, say, 5 scenarios (like a WW2-scenario, a Napoleon-scenario, etc).

And also a religion-DLC, to have the possibility to put religion into the game.

I think religion should be vanilla, but maybe the Zulu-UP pack would be called "the scramble for africa" where each Europe civ (Dutch, Germany (or was it prussia at that time), England, France, and Spain all try to take over like 10 cities maybe, and african civs (Egypt, Zulu, and those people from timbuktu) (I CAN"T REMEMBER THERE FREAKING NAMES) try to keep their original cities.

I would most like to see an Austria or Austria-Hungary civ, and maybe two scenarios with the pack? (WWI and Maybe Balkan wars or crimean war or something like that)

also the Majahpahit would be fun, as well as the Timurids.
