where's the I can't see it yet cuz it's choppy like crazy option?

Try turning off FSAA, then start the game.

My Wonder movies were choppy, so I turned FSAA off, and it works fine.

I really liked civ III ptw's intro over civ IV vinilla, civIII vinilla, civIII conquests, or civIII gold

loved the factory shot moving up to the spaceship!

I give it an 8/8.

The starting light that matches the music's bell representing the first civ of humanity (Sumeria) and the zoom to Greece (is it ?) is just great. We've already seen in plenty of games the historic depiction of Humanities evolution, thanks. It's something fresh and the music is brilliant.

Shame the game itself is not up the same standard.

Remember guys you'll have two expansions for C4 which will also have intro movies.

So far PTWs intro movie and CivII's are the best IMHO.

I have to say that I LOVE the intro movie, and am personally glad to see the end of the whole 'sweep of history' intro that is common to these sorts of games. Actually, that is kinda the point-they are just common and passe! It deals with some of the main issues-IMO-such as the new ability to zoom in (passing through the clouds), engaging in warfare with foreign nations and ruling over your people. But, what truly does it for me is the music-this and Baba Yetu really have won me over completely ;).
At the end of the day, though, its true that these are just 'movies', and it is the game itself that I truly enjoy!

Aussie_Lurker.

I was very impressed by the music - and by the whole lights flickering - though it did seem very focussed on Europe, maybe if we'd seen lights going across Asia as well it would have been kind of cool. The Battle scene looked like the dev team had been playing too much Rome: Total War - i'd thought maybe it would segue between different sorts of warfare... in fact it seemed more like an introduction for an ancient warfare/age of empires style game, as many people have said.

8/8. The intro movie was fantastic.

It's good (7/8) but the graphics could be better. Why do intro movies (for any game) have such crappy graphics?
Red Alert II and Warcraft III had superb intros and cinematics (I found the tank rollling over the "Don't Mess With Texas" sign hilarious, living here!) :D

Don't mess with Texas! *SMUSH* Oops...I think I broke something :mischief:

An anti-litter sign doesn't do much good against a Russian tank :D

TANK RUSH!! :king:

Feels more than Age Of Empires than Civ. Progress is missing.

Civ3:PTW had the best intro, IMO. Civ2 was good back them, too.

Shouldnt it end in modern era by showing a space ship or something(were the game really ends when you play) like RoN?

I think what it zooms in on in the movie is Troy, and those are meant to be the Trojan's vs the Greek's. I didn't like it very much either. Once it zoomed it I was scratching my head the whole time considering there was a huge battle on the walls of a castle (something that never happens in CIV), with people on some pilgramage up a mountain to join in the party for the Kings crowning by Aristotle...or something. Then it just ends. I bet they just did it last and tried to make do with what they could in a short amount of it.

That movie looks somewhat crappy, the movies between the starcraft missions were way better and don't get me started about DOW...
Some older games have better ingame grafics than this "movie"
