Hello all. :)

I've had a mac for the past year but only recently bought Civ IV gold. Though I wasted a fair few hours on the civ games when I had a PC.

Just wandering what people are playing on and what the performance is like.

Edit: I use the 2.0 GHz March 2009 mini, with 10.62 SL. Only 1 Gig ram but I'll be upgrading that to 4 soon. All graphics settings are at low but it runs OK. No issues but have only had the game a few days.

15" macbook pro, 10.5.8, 4gb ram, geforce 8600.

Seems to run pretty well

MacPro 1st generation. 2 x 2.66 GHz Dual-Core Xeon. 4 GBytes RAM. NVIDIA GeForce 880GT as well as the original 7300 GT.

Seems OK, but I don't play, only support.

[UPDATE] Should have said - OS X 10.6.2

24" iMac / 2.93 GHz / 4GB RAM / ATI Radeon 4850 (512MB) / 10.6.2

Plays like a dream. A sweet dream. :D

Oh ! Ditto but 3,06 Ghz
Oh ! Pareil sauf 3,06 Ghz
:goodjob:

Anybody have 8 Go DDRAM ?

iMac 2.16GHz Core2 Duo | Mac OS 10.4.11 | 2Gb RAM | ATI Radeon X1600 256Mb VRAM

but looking to upgrade to dojoboy equivalence (again) :)

1st gen. Mac Pro (Oct 2006) - I expect to upgrade within the year.

2 x 3GHz dual core Xeon, 4GB RAM, ATI Radeon HD 3870.

Plays like a dream, especially since I upgraded from the useless ATI X1900 which shipped with the Mac.

Oh, and I'm still on 10.5.8 as I've seen no reason to upgrade.

Useless? Runs just fine for me (since Apple replaced the original X1900 under warranty). I don't plan to replace it until 2011.

MacBook Pro, pretty basic -- 1 GB of RAM, Core2 Duo @ 2.16 GHz, running OS 10.4.11

This machine is over 3 years old. Very happy with BTS game performance, especially considering the modest RAM size and clock speed.

13" Macbook Pro, 2.53 GHz Core 2 Duo
4 GB 1067 MHz DDR3
OS/X 10.6.2

Works fine even with stuff running in the background.

I think that's the key. I had one of the originals and it fried - in fact, it was you who diagnosed the problem for me, IIRC.

Latest generation White MacBook
2.26 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
4 GB RAM
500GB HD
NVIDIA GeForce 9400M 256MB
10.6.2 Snow Leopard

Works just fine, some scenarios and huge map games eventually get chunky but nothing a quick reboot won't fix. I tend to play with single unit graphics on, otherwise normal graphics settings, native resolution and all.

MacBook Early 2009, 4 GB RAM, 10.6.3
running BtS in Wineskin, runs okay

MacBook 2008, 2,4 GHz, 4 GB RAM, Mac OS 10.6.3

Runs fine (native and even under VMware Fusion with Windows XP)!
