What would you change?

Probably my number one annoyance (and it's likely just something I can't figure out how to do) is deselecting a unit that I've clicked on. My first inclination is to hit escape, but I always have to give it an order instead. Probably just something I've missed.

Oh, and my #2 annoyance: Khazad warriors! Why aren't these Dwarven Warriors? Never made sense to me that the pseudo-dwarven golem builders get them but the pure-dwarven nation didn't.

Felwar if you find out how to deselect units tell me, please. Because it annoys me too but it is vanilla behaviour. I often have to wake unit then fortify it again to deselect it.

The help text for the new unit button arrangement ("Arrange buttons horizontally", e.g.) often lingers on screen, obscuring information text on the selected unit. If you mouseover any other way of displaying the buttons, the irritating text goes away. But it is definitely irritating having to do this every third turn or so. Is there a way to force that help-text to decay?[/quote[

Should be fixed in 0.16. (I fixed it before but it broke the tech screen so I had to put it back in 0.15k, hopefully it fixed correctly now).

The sea-bourne fireball stutter is even more irritating, but I know that bug has been sighted scopred and :sniper: in 0.16.

Yeap, thats definitly fixed.

Can't think of any other repetative irritants, at least not now. :)

Speaking of sounds, are the vampire voice clips drawn from the Dain playstation games? They sound familiar. That was a pretty cool game.

No idea, Yorgos supplied them.

I never thought about this but I see what you mean. There is no deselect option, the game always assumes you have some unit selected. I will have to think about it.

This was just a system thing. The Luchuirp needed a special warrior because I had to block upgrades on it to axeman (aka: wood golems for the luchuirp). In 0.16 the Khazad have their own version of the dwarven warrior that can upgrade.

level up glow doesnt show up across saves (so if you load units that are leveled up won't have a glow)

also if you have a spare levelup and level up again in a turn, you can levelup the new level too, despite being unable to do so if you didnt have the free levelup before leveling up

a good fix would be that you can level up immediately if you've gained the xp this turn, the reason this is needed is because of multiplayer Simultaneous turns. in MP, because its simultaneous, you get attacked at the beginning of the turn (because ais go 'first' in 'simultaneous'), but are unable to level up and get attacked again next turn before you have time to level up, which is a big hassle.

its technically already possible if you already have a level stored up and then gain new xp for the new level this turn like i said

another thing about levelups, is the glow, it would be neat if the glow matched your player colour :D

another thing about MP, Sentry doesnt work, which means you end up with a lot of dead workers since they use that mechanic for their wake up and run thing, but it also makes sentry useless (and sentrying is a beautiful tactic)

It's not only a problem against AI, its a problem against Humans too. If they have a big stack of attackers outside your city and are attacking each turn, you will have a hard time to promote every unit each turn. (First I always get thrown to my cities that complete units etc, I always forget to set a build queue).

Do the Khazad have their won Dwarven Scout too? That reminds me of an annoyance ... the lack of a Dwarven Scout means their Scout units cannot move quickly through hill terrain. Wil they get the +10% combat bonus in Hills in 0.16, like the Elven units now get in Forest?

Not yet, probably not until I get a dwarven scout model to add.

I really don't think anybody has said this yet, but what i find most anoying is the lack of early good and evil religions. i always find myself Neutral after converting to a religion early one for the advantage it gives me, which is slightly annoying.

If you are evil and want to remain evil you should choose either the fellowship or the overlords as your early religion. They will both leave you evil.

If you are good and want to remain good you should choose either the Runes or the Fellowship as your early religion. Both will leave you good.

Here's a screenie of the peeve I was being over verbose about earlier. See how the 3rd row of promotions is on top of the UI? I know I saw this sort of thing in one other place, as well, but can't remember where it was... I'll keep looking ;-)

As you can tell from the screenshot its still not perfect, but its better in 0.16.

When playing the Khazad I almost always get starting locations against the ocean. Sometimes great one: 5 clams in my starting location once! But I play dwarves to build mines and live in mountains. Any way to make the starting location always around hills? It's not really about using the special Arete abilities (although that'd be nice). It just doesn't fit the flavor.

Try out FFH_Fractal and the other FFH map scripts. You can find them in a thread here somewhere.

What's the meaning of these two promotions with the shield symbol right in the middle of your screenshots promotion list? Something new? :) I've never encountered promotions like this in my games.

Good eyes. Yeap, those are the new pictures for Cover I and Cover II. I didn't like the old picture.
