What would you like to see changed in civ 5?

actually, it is.
Not everything 'requires' a clock, especially when the game ships on a system that provides one. If you don't use that online service and think that every other clock around you just isn't right, well, that's your problem, not 2K/Firaxis's problem.

Did you read my whole post? I mean its not a necessity, but an option for a clock would be nice.

The clock thing is not needed its just comforting somehow. Imagine us grown men arguing about a damn clock in a game. I am sorry but that is too funny. When Gods and Kings comes out none of us will worry about a clock. Can we agree on that?

I really want an improvement in the cultural border expansion ai. It has no idea that a fish tile is really good prioritizing it no more than a randomn water tile. Add in massive overvaluation of food and it gets quite annoying. America's Ua seems like junk until your border ai ignores iron and fish over and over for that vital water tile or the plains river or just simple grassland.

I'd like to see some changes to the tech tree.

Mainly a "Cartography" technology in the mid-late Renaissance, that'd reveal the world like Satellites, but wouldn't show it in real-time (i.e. Border Growth/New Cities) only to give a general idea of the rest of the world.

I personally think the techs for astronomy and optics should be reversed, but this isn't a pressing need (just a reflection that astronomy existed in the ancient age, optics did not).

I may have played to much Civ 4 or I'm just stupid but I always look for the clock. And I can't find it... Is it time for bed now or can I play just one more turn...

Maybe the UA for the Mayans is that you get to see a Real-Time clock and you have to win before midnight. :P

A nuke should be able to destroy all progress made towards building a spaceship. I want to be able to delay another civs science victory by nuking their capital. Sometimes you just can't get an army there in time.

That seems a little too favorable towards warmongers. And a good way to basically prevent spaceship victory ever by the human player if the AI were programmed to nuke you right before you finished it.

I don't need normal clock, but what I need is a timer that tells me how much longer I can keep playing before my girlfriend becomes really upset.

I strongly disagree about the GS nerf. I like the face that I am actually awarded promptly for NOT ACTUALLY GOING TO WAR for once and focusing my strategy on other things.

On the other hand, I would like a stronger war weariness in place. I found the war aspect of Civ SEVERELY AGONIZING and hate having to go domination in order to get a strong score. Perhaps, subtracting the points given by puppeted cities perhaps?
I would like

Agreed, both Cultural and Science victory are the only ones that cannot be tampered with, you cannot eliminate completed trees in enemy cities nor slow down/destroy progress on Space Craft.

speaking of..

I would LOVE that they would bring back Civ 4's Alpha Centauri victory, I just miss building so many space parts. I kinda wish they would make each victory bigger, like for Domination you'd have to conquer all capitals + annhilate 50% or so of enemy civs. Cultural maybe have a dominant religion, and with Space like I said above.

Diplomatic Victory, could also have nominees rather than everybody being eliglibe to win.

What I would like to see changed in CiV, is info on unit types and casualties suffered by you and your enemies. I feel they should add this info to CiV. I have always found it interesting, how many enemy units I have killed, and how many I have lost. Even if they don't do this officially, I'd like to see a mod of some sort which can tell you this info. It would go well together with infoaddict, and the AgS - Resource Info Panel.

perhaps the mind map from civ 4 could be used again, it displayed all factions relations quite clearly

also, if a similar mind map be used in a separate branch in diplomacy for individual major nations relations relations to all city-states

it would certainly simplify diplomacy for both multiplayer and solo games, especially when versing many opponents and especially when games are drawn out.

not to mention how after not playing the game for a while, you'd return to it and not quite remember what was happening or what plans were originally made due to other things in life. civ is a great game, but unless its clearly set out, i find myself starting new games or re-loading all ones because i didnt remember specific strategic points which with the diplomatic mind map of civ 4, made so simple

Just nerfing the Artillery power against units . Doing this will make War in Industrial era much more interesting .
