What's in a name?

More to the point, if Jesus (or the Aramaic or Hebrew precursor of it) was his first name, what was his last name?

And if his name was more commonly translated to be Joseph, that'd be a problem. His father was also named Joseph. "Joseph Jr, Son of God"? You can see how that'd be confusing.

Often they would just be called, something like this. Simon Barjoseph, meaning Simon son of Joseph. They would distinguish names by whom their father was.

So, while he was alive he was probably not called "Jesus Christ". "Christ" is (for lack of a better term) a title that was attached to him later.
He was prolly called J-dog back then.
