Jesus Christ. You are a god amongst men!

I've never pulled a true all-nighter. Anytime I've stayed up "all night" I had a usually significant nap the afternoon-evening before.

Why in the world would you do such a thing in the service?!

missed a night an then ran right through..

a more interesting Q is how little sleep you have survived on for a week.

I could claim about only 20 hours in my freshers week

Somewhere between 48 and 72 hours during a field exercise in primary leadership school. They kept you awake to teach you what fatigue really does to you after awhile. You get to the point where you have to be doing something active all the time in order to keep alert. You slow down even for a minute and whammo......your asleep. Its also extremely hard to concentrate and even usually simple tasks get tough.

Ummm... ditto, except it was during a naval exercise, and there wasn't any intended lesson to be learned, just an undermanned wardroom on an old frigate due for decommissioning.

Five days - the final days of completing my thesis which had to be complete at a certain deadline. Retrospectively, I think I should have slept a few hours from time to time - I would have worked less but more productively.
