What's the strangest game you've played?

'Yes, I assure you, we don't believe in the goodwill of the gods and their angels, they bring nothing but evil. Erebus would be better off without them. What, you're asking what that huge portal is doing behind me then? Oh, it's just a decoration, we're definitely not trying to summon an army of angels or something...'

that should be in "the order of the stick" comic somewhere

Well, when you think of it, Basium and Cassiel aren't so strange allies. Basium don't care about human and just want to destroy every demons. Cassiel want demons (and angel) out of Erebus. So, summoning Basium to kick demon out of Erebus, and then finding a way to send the angel to Hell so that they continue theirs war seem a bit manipulative, but certainly acceptable.

Hmm, I haven't thought of it in that way before.

On the other hand, I can see Basium thinking that after the demons and their worshippers are dealt with, the Godless archangel and his people are next on the list. An alliance where both parties plan to eventually backstab each other.

Basium certainly wouldn't attack the Grigori just for being atheists. Although the Grigori don't persecute any religious people in their cities as long as they follow the rules, so I suppose if Cassiel refused to execute a suspected group of Veil followers (Who either hadn't killed anyone, or just hadn't been caught doing it.) Basium might be a bit upset then.

That said, I'm wondering what Basium would do after the demons and their worshippers had been done with. Now I'm imagining him happily sitting on a cloud and playing a lyre.

My money is that he would pursue them in hell as best as he can. If he somehow destroy the entirety of hell with his ragtag team of angel, then yes Cassiel may have a problem.

Especially since it is cataclysmic enough to make a significant part of Grigori doubt the atheistic view.

If all the demons and their worshippers were gone, I really doubt Basium would do anything to the Grigori. Also, the cataclysmic war of heaven and hell would've been what drove many people to the Grigori lands in the first place; far from more destruction making them doubt themselves, it would just prove them right.
