[BTS] When a Wonder gives you a City Building, like the Three Gorges Dam question?

Three Gorges Dam give a free Hydro Electric Plant...however when you build the Wonder you still see it in the build possibilities. Does it help to also build the individual city building? I know it sounds stupid but just wondered if it helped to build it in each city in addition to the Wonder? Thanks for helping an Old Gramps

3GD provides power to all cities on the same continent (or land mass), including the city in which it is built. It does not build the Hydro Plant in each city, but the effect is the same as the Hydro Plant (Power and the -2 Health) Therefore, you save on having to build a coal, hydro or nuclear plant in all those cities, and get the healthiest of those options.

And, no, actually building a power plant in those cities provides no extra benefit. In other words it is a waste of hammers.

3GD is pretty darn expensive itself.

Unless you loose control of the city with TGD. But if that happens, you probably have bigger problems.
