Amazon says you can get it on 30th september.
I dont rcall there being an official date in the pre-release, and civ4.com is useless as civ3.com is.

What you say about there own site is indeed true. Im not so sur about Amazon tho there dates seem to be all over the place with stuff. Except Amazon.jp that seems good for dates. I hope Amazon prove me wrong tho.

September 30 is the last day of quarter 3. Since Firaxis says quarter 4, the earliest will be out on October 1 and the latest is December 31. So most sites will list the middle dates which is November 15.

Don't buy it online, that would be stupid, extra shipping/slow delivery.

Depends who you use. With preorders the place i usually use for stuff like that get it to me on the day its out sometimes a few days earlier. Im sure ther not ment to do that but im not complaining.

Every pre-order i've made online i have got at least a day early - perhaps even 3 days if i'm lucky. I've pre-ordered about 10 games online too, never had a problem. Also you'll find ordering online is noticeably cheaper than going down your local store and forking out £35/$50 for a game.

Oh, and www.gameplay.com is what i always use - quality store, they are very good.

And don't worry about the platform for Civ IV being shown as PS2 on it, i've emailed them to tell them the platform is incorrect and have already got a reply - they're working on it.

Civ IV on the PS2 that may of tempted me. They did civilization 2 on the playstation and that was good.

Hmmm, how come everything I order online comes 2-3 weeks later? Do you pay 10 bucks for shipping?

I've found GoGamer to be an excellent source for online goodies. They're easy to use, quick in delivery, and highly reliable. $5.99 shipping gets your package to you in 2 days or less. GoGamer's yet to disappoint me on this matter.

Erm, i live in England, Gameplay and Play.com are British-based companies so i just pay 99p for 1st class Royal Mail delivery.

Everything I have preordered from Amazon I have got on the release date or before. I watched Gladiator on the Saturday before it was released.

Very good, that's what hooked me back in 1998/99.

Play.com is free delivery within the UK and normally 2 days delivery.

I've done what I don't normally do and that is I've pre-ordered a copy from play.com. Hope it'll be worth the wait. :D
