if civ4 finally comes out in lets say the fall of 2005, then at what time will there be no need for our outrageous suggestions and mad comments? :crazyeye: will the programmers stil be putting our suggestions into the game a few month before release? or will we be done by the end of this year? its just that everyday theres better and better suggestions and convos are still going over details. anybody with experience on computer games know when it will become impossible to impliment new ideas?

In Civ3 development some ideas went in even the last few months. To be fair, since it is well underway (according to published docs it has been playable (in some form) for over 6 months now), don't expect them to take a suggestion that means going in a majorly different direction than they are planning it to go.

Suggest away until Civ4 is released. They can always use the ideas for expansions later.

Though even now they probably already have their minds made up for what they want in the expansions already. ;)

What makes you think that the admins are aware of Civ4's status? Even if Thunderfall and company were aware, they couldn't tell you what decisions had been made as they'd be under an NDA.

There's always Civ5 for ideas that are too far out for Civ4.

is there any expected announcement from the developers soon or do they just make them randomly? it would be nice to know what progress they have made and what ideas they are currently looking into and expanded on

The developers post in here very infrequently (every few months or so). I would be surprised if they talked details to anyone not under an NDA till they are ready for the pre-release media hype. Talking details and then changing your mind later means broken promises to some. They've learned from that mistake.
