When is the DLC coming?

Exactly. Anyone who complains about the price of DLC is just an idiot. A beverage at Starbucks costs ~$4 and the DLC costs $3.75 each (if you buy both)...which one will give me more entertainment?

A beverage of course, if you are really thirsty! ;)

$5 for DLC is a good price IMO.

For three buildings that comprise of probably five lines of code?
Plus a scenario ;)

I personally think €3,49 is a bit steep for the Wonders-DLC, but together with Korea it's only €1,50 ($2,50?) which I think is a fine price, actually :)
But if it wouldn't be sold in a combo-pack than I'd find it too expensive for what you get for it (which is wholly subjective of course) and probably would've waited for some Steam-sale.

I think the price should only be about $.50 because that is what it's worth.

Didn't you listen to Spock in civ iv?

An object is worth what it's purchaser will pay for it :-p

You people have very skewed visions of the value of a dollar. $0.50 wont even buy you a pack of Skittles, but you're complaining that programming a game to bring you hours of entertainment costs too much at $3.75? Each piece of Trident Bubble gum costs me 5.6 cents apiece and that's if I get them on special for $1.00 a pack instead of $1.25!

Seriously, if you're complaining about new content for a wonderful game at only $3.50, your life is pretty pathetic. That's less than the cost of a gallon of gas...

You guys need to stop buying DLC. Unless, of course, you thoroughly enjoy getting ripped off.

I've upped my DLC count. If you don't like it. Up yours!

 Just kidding. Anyway, let people do what they want. It's not hurting you.

If we're talking about the relative cost of a drink from an entire bottle of high quality beverage, then sure, it's no contest. I am also taking the beverage.

If you're comparing the cost of CiV DLC to, say, the $3 price on Deus Ex during Steam's promotion, then the DLC starts to look pretty bad.

If you're comparing the DLC to most of the dreck that gets published in gaming today, the DLC starts to look pretty solid.

The frame of reference matters.

If it really bothers you that much, I'll make sure I buy it twice.

Really folks, I just can't see arguing over a few dollars no matter what it is. When 20OZ cokes cost a $1.50, then a few more bucks for a DLC is nothing.

The only analogy that I can see here is that someone hates cokes, and won't buy them no matter what the price because they want Pepsi. So it sounds to me like some folks here just don't like Civ V and won't buy anymore Civ V related stuff because it's Civ V.

Whatever. I really don't care anyway other than to just make a point. And I'm sure someone is going to come back on me to show how wrong I am. LOL. My only response would be: I can't wait to get home from work to buy these new DLCs. :)

I refuse to support DLC because I feel as though I get completely ripped off. $5 per civ is imo, a travesty. If you bought the DLC which only includes Civs/Wonders, that is $30 for 7 civs and 3 wonders. BtS, however, retailed for $30 and came with 10 new civs, 16 new leaders, random events, corporations, GREAT scenarios, 25 new units, 18 new buildings, and 6 new wonders.

Basically compared to what we could be getting, DLC is a rip off.

Do you feel ripped off when you pay the same amount of money for a ninety minute movie? Of course you don't because you're probably paying more for the movie...

Wait a minute, movies are expensive and last ninety to a hundred eighty minutes at best. So, it's now a rip off that players pay for something they want and will pay for?

Y u guys no like capitalism?

It annoys me how much people complain about DLC, it takes a lot of work to make these leaders! We get it you think the price is bad, so dont buy it. We will enjoy Korea and the wonders while you wait for an expansion pack that will probally never come. Just stop annoying me and other people who enjoy Civ 5 with your complaining in every thread! Its not like Civ 4 when they could slap together leaderheads like nothing, the leaderheads in Civ5 are amazing in detail so you think they would cost more. For every other gaming console it is the same price for DLC, at least its not like Xbox where you buy a general prince and always have something leftover

True.
Unfortunately every DLC does worth exactly what it's buyer will pay for it. And as long as are those who believe it's beneath their dignity to argue over couple of bucks, we (and them just as well) can be sitting and waiting for a full add-ons having an actual impact on the gameplay that will never come.
For me the issue here is not about money at all. As consumers we need to encourage the industry to work for us and not each other to work for them.

This is exactly the problem. I cannot speak for anyone else but pretty sure I'm not the only one who buys this particular game not because of its holly-amazing-fully animated-3d leaders but for its replayability. TBS was never about graphics for the series' core fans. And I believe still isn't. With CIV5 game developers obviously try to grab a bigger piece of the gaming market and appeal to a larger audience. Which is understandable. However, it's impossible to please everybody. No matter what way you choose half of the customers will be pissed.
