Preordering here. CiV as released dampened my enthusiasm for the series, but apart from apparently not addressing the combat AI (for shame!), it looks like they pretty much took the fan feedback and criticism to heart with this expansion. Add to that that warts and all it's still a stellar installment in a classic franchise, and I have no qualms about getting in early.

Considering I still have to buy Batman: Arkham City and ARMA II: Combined Operations (for Day Z), I will be waiting for a sale.

Pre-ordering on Steam as soon as possible and I will also buy all the other Civ games during the summer sale.

Preee-Order. I don't care how flawed it is an release, I want to try out all the improvements over Civ 5, and of course try out Sweden!

Won't pre-order because I just don't feel comfortable doing that in general. Besides, I am a poor student in a foreign country and I am pretty sure I drank all the money that could've gone into a pre-order several days ago.

I'll probably end up buying it within the first month of release, definitely not later. I'll just wait a bit to see how the community reacts and tone up/down my expectations (although scratch the toning up part, it ain't going any higher than this).

Midnight release at GameStop. I hope. Sometimes they don't get PC games until around noon the day of ...

I'll preorder if there's value to preordering. Otherwise, I'll get it soon after release relative to having free time to actually play it. In other words, I'll almost certainly have it by the weekend; I might have it that night.

Unless something comes with pre-ordering it (which seems unlikely since it hasn't been announced yet), what's the point of doing it? If you get it through Steam, it's not like they're going to be out of copies when you try to buy it. So I see no point in pre-ordering it. I'll just buy it the day it comes out on Steam, though I think it'll take a few patches (and a few months) before it reaches its full potential.

I held off buying Civ5, based largely on the reports I was receiving in the various reviews. However, when I bought it I discovered that-though it wasn't as enjoyable an experience for me as Civ4 was-it was actually much better than I thought it would be. As this expansion now brings back-& improves upon-those elements I felt were missing from the original Civ5, I definitely don't plan to wait on this one-no matter how many patches it requires ;-).

Aussie.

I'll almost certainly preorder it. I'm hoping for a preorder bonus though, so I'll probably wait until about a week before release to buy it. If all else fails, hopefully Steam will at least let me download it ahead of time, so I can hop right in to playing the first time I boot it up.

I preordered it from Amazon UK. Should be sitting in the hall when I return home from China at the end of June.

Pre-order. High chance of pre-downloading before the game is unlocked. Can't wait for more hours to download

Pre-order if there is a steam bonus, still pre-order if not buy wait until the last day to do so.

Will this be one of those things where you can download ahead of time and then get the authorization to release later? No way I'm going to download day of release, it could be bogged down. Another reason to hold off a few days.

On steam, there is a possibility they will permit a pre-load (download, but can't play until it's unlocked). But seeing as this is an expansion pack, who knows.

Pre-Order in 6 months time when Aspyr finally finish the Mac Version :D

If you can run Boot Camp, you can just order it on Steam for PC and when it comes out on Mac you'll get that version free. At least that's the case with Civ V vanilla (and I think Steam in general).
