When will you buy it?

What will you do?

I love Civ 5 and have played over 1000 hours of it. Preorder is a no brainer. Digital purchase is a no brainer.

Pre order. Though I expect it to be bad before a few patches.

Same. Too into Civ 5 to not get it.

What pushed me not to wait for a sale (after all, it will probably be buggy until there's a sale) is that Thal is projecting to get UP and VEM onto G+K fairly quickly, so Take Two, you can go and thank Thal and other hard-working modders for your cash flow.

I have yet to buy Civ5, partly because I didn't have good enough hardware for it to be playable and partly because of the lukewarm reception from some of the better players here.

I'll buy G&K if I get a sense that it's good enough for me to put Civ4 on the shelf.

I will wait and see if G&K is the savior of Civ5 before throwing good money after bad.

Gonna wait till I hear you guys about it.

CiV was a disaster when it came out. Bugs galore.

If again I'll wait till the 1st patch.

Cheers

Voted "I will wait until a sale to buy it.". I can change my mind if we can get 24h or weekend for tests. Bigger demo. I do not want to be a beta tester and start new game on monday then new game three days later, because of new patch that screwed saves or rules or policies. And one more thing, there will be DLCs, so why not wait till christmas and buy all stuff for 5€?

Already preordered. Just the espionage, new units and vamped AI is enough for me. Looking forward to seeing the rest of it too.

I pre-ordered it. They almost put more work for the expansion than the original game

Been a while they announced the expansion. I'm confident that bugs and glitches will be almost inexistent. At worst, they will patch last problems some days after.

I just hope that multiplayer games will be more enjoyable(read no more stuck moments) and we will be able to play with more than 8 players :please:

I've pre-orderd the game.

Even though there might be a chance G&K might be buggy or unbalanced on release, Firaxis has a great track record of patches, and I have full confidence in the fact that, if there'd be issues, they'll fix it.

And also I have my bimonthly Civ-LAN on the 6th of july, so it'll be sorely needed for that :)

I'll wait for the sale. I waited patiently for the DLCs to be sold cheaply, and they were - 75% off this weekend. I figure that should keep me amused for what little I play of Civ 5 these days, and next year I'll pick up G&K when it's on a huge sale.

I selected "wait until a sale" but would actually have chosen "wait at least 6 months, then buy on sale". There's no way whatsoever that I'm going to buy it before at least 6 months of testing by other people.

I'll be waiting a minimum of 6 months. And each patch will add a month or so to that count. I learned my lesson with Civ5.

I just preordered the XP on steam. When I download it I'll play a quick warmup game, maybe a small map about 4-6 new civs. See what GnK is made of.

I'll be playing on large map with the new civs.

Waiting to see if the diplomacy system is reworked to my liking. If they fix that I'm in, if not, well it was a good run Civ.

I just pre ordered the game on steam can't wait:D

I absoluely despised Civilization 5 when it came out. It was not a worthy successor to civilization 4 and i was really disappointed at how it turned out. I was so excited for it and then when it came out I was thoroughly dissapointed. After waiting a few months after some patches and tweaks i came back and it slightly changed my mind. I have fun with it now but i never settled into it. I put 500 hours in 4 and 80 in 5. I just couldnt get into with the lack of features that civ 4 had. Gods and Kings looks to completely change that. Addign in the new features and gameplay aspects ramping up the strategy and brain power it takes to play this game. I'm gonna buy it on release because my hope is that it will save this game and add 400 hours into my play time.

Pretty much sums up my position too except that I didn't come back after the initial disappointment, even sold my copy of Civ 5 I was so disgusted. Haven't played for ages and I was just feeling a craving for some civ and was considering reinstalling civ4 when I saw G&K is coming out. Hmm... :mischief:
