I hate when people stop posting because you proved them wrong, but still have the same ignorant opinions in the next thread.

I say what I feel is the right thing, then if people read it an understand it in the entirety of its genius or reply with some nonsensical ramblings, that's their problem

Because it starts going in a direction that I have no interest in (actual circumstances of the US war of 1903 in Swaziland or whatever)

Is dumb/pointless (why political party X are devil, and Y are angels, and many many others)

Repeating itself (creationism for example)

When some specific people start posting in it :mischief:
Spoiler :
But naturally I'm not saying who ;)

The thread often gets buried because they won't make a Politics sub-forum to relieve Off-Topic and/or because the thread itself becomes too long (overnight on a weekend, per se) where I don't want to go through 50+ posts just to 'catch up.'

As soon as the United States is referred to in any thread, that's when I stop reading it. Someone starts trolling the US about something totally unrelated, its just so illogical I stop reading.

I love that last answer it is so hilarious. Anyways my answer would be. to many threads- lose track of them forget about or the two reasons Nonconformist just posted

If its a thread I post in sporadically, it is because I have said all I want, or everyone else is boring.

If I am in a heated argument, there usually seems to be some mutual surrender. We both get tired, and the argument winds down.

I stop mostly when nobody really acknowledges my posts

Other times it's because the thread becomes boiled down to one stupid issue that cannot be reconciled between the people who remain arguing, and thus becomes repetative and stupid.

I stop when

-I got to bed, wake up, and the thread has expanded 10 pages
or
-the thread is going absolutely nowhere.

Pretty much my reasons as well... I do have to sleep most of the time. :p

Bah, forgot to add one to the poll options--people probably stop posting in the Babe Thread "because they ran out of JPEG's".

Sorry. :)

All of the above. :)

I stop when the nice doctor comes into my cell and gives me my medication :) Then the nice nurses strap me into my bed and samildanach goes to sleep. I start posting again when I wake up and the nurses remove my restraints :) I like posting :wavey:

Either because I was being flamed, I lost, I was banned, or I just loose intersest.
Sometimes when I win, but that's not really a reason to stop going.

I stop when I must go back to RL, or more often when I have made my point and the thread has devolved into silly side arguments. I don't like repeating myself, so like Akka, if people are never going to listen or change their mind then I've already said all I can.

usually i stopped posting when nobody else reply to my post or thread. or i had made my point. Also due to real life, i cant continue posting endlessly.

And normally i only posted on threads that im really interested in. If i view the thread as repeat on something i had posted before, i normally ignore it, unless there are interesting articles or arguments.
seconded.

Real life and it is no longer near the top of page one so I don't see it when I scan back in.
