Where are we on the C2C tech tree?

Where is the current human civilization on the C2C tech tree? What are the latest techs we have and what are we researching?

There is no actual "Future" era, only a placeholder used for some unknown purpose with Analyze Strings. The "Future" eras would be Transhuman and Galactic, seeing as they encompass technologies not yet discovered by current human civilization. DRJ is about right; 2013 is early Transhuman.

If there was a 'future' era, wouldn't it be relative to our (real life) current point, and thus by definition we'd be on the border of it?

You also have to consider what was future when the game came out compared to now. Just like in the game we are advancing up the tree in real life too.

Civ's "modern" era seems to end in about the equivalent of the 1990s/early 00s. Civ4 (BTS) extends this a bit with the space elevator and whatnot, so it's pretty blurry.
You also have to consider that the first three civ games came out before 2000.

I'd imagine, for C2C purposes, that the year 2000 is a good modern/Transhuman era boundary
