Where in the world is Starlifter?

Has anyone got the foggiest on why Starlifter hasnt posted for almost a month?

I miss Seattle's rain.

I know he was trying to volunteer for the war, so maybe he was called up and went overseas...

I too have been wondering bout this for the longest time now. Maybe he went for full-time training - that thing bout the Globemaster III or something. Seem to remember reading his post bout it somewhere - concerning his future plans.

Yeah, he hasn't been here for ages, but I think that the answer to your original question could be Afghanistan. He was in the reserve and has possibly been called up, but we've got no way of knowing. Shame really.

Indeed, I too have noted the absence of Starlifter.
He can't have been liquidated, as he is not on my quota list for this month, and we've been ever so busy down at the human powered power station

On the matter of absentees, where is Az and Shadowdale, as I haven't spotted them for a while. Or maybe I haven't been looking properly.
And for that matter, wherever did that nice little stellarconverter go?
NOT! on that last matter.

I forgot, Starlifter may be training for the C-17. Thats why he couldnt go to Afghanistan in the first place. They were flying the new plane, and he is trained on the old C-141. Good point SKM.

Hey - someone actually noticed the nonsense I posted in the now-departed spam thread! I realise now that I was wrong - it's Lefty who's the robot, not starlifter!
Seriously, though, it's a shame that so many old friends are not here as often, but maybe that's just because they've got real friends and lives . Has anyone seen the highest-posting resident of the Kremlin recently? Lots of fanatics come and go but that's the nature of the internet and we can only hope that equally valuable contributors arrive here to stand in for those who can't be here as often.

I think Starlifter will be back though, and GLAD to be back--after our victory....

I suspect he's "making himself useful" in a much more profound way than posting his usual level-headed (and yes even though I sometimes disagree with him quite profoundly) posts in CFC.

If you manage to get a look at this forum sometime, Starlifter, we wish you Godspeed.... And that goes for ALL those who may be gone now because they are "making themselves useful" and serving their countries....

In emailing Mr. Bond he's let me know that he is now at university and has just not had enough time to play Civ nor surf the forums as much as he would like. He does stop by every so often - even found a way to complete a GOTM (though he had to ask a prof for extra time on an assignment )

I imagine that over the holidays he will be able to jump back in a bit more.

I hope that some other missing persons decide to come back and spend some time soon. It's great that with Civ3 out there are so many new names and posters, but It'll be good to see some people on the forums who were here when we broke the record of 30 people on the site.
