Where is Spanish Empire?

I think Firaxis has shown plenty of respect for Spain in the past four renditions of its games. I think leaving it out, acknowledging that it will be added via expansion in the future is a fair call in the name of an interesting array of civilizations.

spain actually wasn't in the first game, but neither were a lot of other really deserving countries.
anyway, i've never really cared too much for spain. i mean, historically, they became powerful basically overnight which is pretty ballin, but that's about it. they were kind of boring to play in civ 4.

considering how many spanish speaking people play the game (I can't only guess, but I'm sure it's alot), it seems kinda silly not to include the Spanish. They belong there more than the americans (who are only there because of the large player base of americans)

I got second place in a state geography bee back in the day. The kid in first,third and fourth place was of oriental background i felt outa place(no racism intended if thats how it comes across)

america's totally deserving for reasons other than being a huge part of the market. i'm not saying that there aren't other civs that aren't equally deserving that haven't been in the game, but saying that america's only there because americans buy a lot of games is just silly.

so americans are supposed to know how many counties are in their state, the location of each state, each states capital, our unincorporated territories, *and* the placement of 200 other countries, their capitals, and their history otherwise we're "stupid" and suck at geography?"

Civ III didn't have Spain until that s**tpile Play the World.
