Anyone know a good to place to get a gaming computer? I don't want to build it myself, I've already tried building one, and it didn't turn out very well. I just want a working computer right out of the box. Any suggestions?

Depends on your budget. How much are you willing to spend?

eBay.

Around $1000 maybe more.

You could get a custom built one. You don't need to build it yourself and you get request exactly what you want.

Yeah, but where? The only one I know of is Alienware, and they charge an arm and a leg for their computers.

I'd rather go online and save the money on tax, and I'd like to be able to configure a computer online like alienware's site so I can see all my options. Anyone know any decent alternatives to alienware?

Not for only $1000, Dell does it cheap, boutiques do it properly

As per my link I think Newegg is what you are looking for as it has a wide variety of options of several computer brands. You can get a pretty decent PC for around $1000.

I don't have what would be considered a 'gaming computer', but mine is able to handle things decently, and with a new graphics card, it would probably be able to handle new games pretty well.

Having said that, I got mine from Best Buy. There's just something about buying computers over the internet that I don't like. Even if it were Newegg.

I'd go to a local reputable computer builder and stay away from big box stores for a gaming computer if you can't build one. Newegg is also a good place as well. I might end up buying some computer parts from there to build my rig.

Newegg.com is a good site (I am assuming you live in the USA). Alienware is horribly overpriced.

Not to mention that Alienware is under the wing of Dhell. STAY AWAY FROM DELL :run:!!

When it breaks, have fun trying to get the Geek Squad to actually fix the problem.

Hello everyone,

I did some research online, and I found a company called Ironside that does exactly what I want. Their website is ironsidecomputers.com. I'm going to be placing an order with them and see how it goes. I'll let you guys know how it turns out.

Thanks again for all the replies.

Who needs the Geek Squad? There's a local computer repair shop that would be able to take care of it.
