Wheres George

Hmm, interesting.

But I have yet to see any reports mentioning drug dealing, so obviously this is inaccurate. :p

Yep, that is pretty cool. I've been a member for about 3 years and am always on the look-out for stamped bills. After you enter the serial no. of the bill, you can see where it came from, and you get an email when it gets entered by someone else down the road. One of the cool things that you can do is to track all the bills that hve been entered in your, or any, zip code ande see how far they have traveled and how long it has taken to get there. Canada has a similar site called whereswilly. I don't know about any other countries though.

I just joined. I was surprised that the small town I come from Herrin (11,000 population) is ranked 11th on the list of top Zip Codes! Seems someone has been busy around here.

I have heard of the Where's Willy before. Really quite interesting.

I was working in the Ukraine and just reached my hotel room at 4am. I gave a hotel porter a $1 note as a tip for carrying my bags up to the room, (yes, ok... people from Yorkshire are tight with their money).
Anyway about 10 minutes later he came back and showed me the $1 bill and shook his head. At first I thought he was saying that he was not allowed to accept the tip, but after a while I understood that he wanted to exchange it because it had that "wheresgeorge" stamp on it. (The local currency exchanges over there would not accept notes which were "defaced" in any way). So at that early hour of the morning I was cursing wheresgeorge although I had a good idea of where i would like to stick him. :)
