lot´s of debates are going on about which civ deserves to be in and why... lot´s of patriotic pride, lot´s of emotions, lot´s of laughter and dumb comments (<-- count me in) Don´t know excatly what I´m trying to find but I am very curious: which civs did you never play. Only 25 slots available, so I took every Civ that got into the original version and the Warlord expension... It´s the first time I make a poll, so I hope it will work and I hope I can enable multiple answers...

I don´t like to play civs I don´t really like, so USA is out. Also, I prefer civs that are now extinct or a mere shadow of themselves like Portugal, Zulu or the Vikings.

what happened to the pole counter, it's way off. One of the Civs I actually play the least is USA. Their UU and UB always come way to late to be significant for me.

I don't think I ever played Korea. Never thought they looked very fun to play.

Can't believe so many people haven't played the Zulu! They're my favorite. They probably have the best UB, UU is cool, and who doesn't like cheap barracks and granaries for all your cities?

I never really cared about the leader traits, the units or the buildings a civ has. It is more of an emotion, a feeling. You get attached to some civs. For me, the more obscure and forgotten the more interesting, so I have played all of those people seem to reject like the Koreans, the Zulu, Incans, Mali and Aztecs.

I just loved Shaka as an opponent :D

I always used the "random" option.

That said there were a few BTS civs that the RNG never got around to picking.

There are actually quite a few I've never played, including America, Aztecs, Mali, Zulu, Persians, Spanish, Celts, Inca, Mongols, India, Arabs and the Vikings. Or in other words, 50% of the Civs listed. :mischief: (You didn't list Babylon, Sumeria, etc.) If we we're to talk about leaders, things would get even narrower.

I generally choose who I play based on a variety of very strange factors...for example, with Choose Religions enabled will I be likely to get a religion to match the particular Civilization? Do I have a favorable opinion of the nation's history? Do I approve of the nation's modern political ideology? Does it have a leader I like who also has traits that I want? Can I be a wonder-monger with this leader? Etc. etc. etc.

As you can see, that really narrows who I'm willing to play as. :D

I think I have played all of them, but there are some I only tried out once or twice like Aztecs, Koreans, Dutch and Native Americans.

I'm norwegian and I could never play the scandinavians in Civ4. The units spoke the most awful and bland Norwegian accent possible.

why are the celts italicized? hint, Never ever played them, UU and UB and dumb. never played Native Americans either, UU and defensive trait is dumb. NEver played Koreans, defensive trait again, dumb. Same with Sumeria. I wish babylon and sumeria were better, then I would have liked to have played them.

I've never played a game through with Wang, India, or China. I usually get bored halfway through, but I like Asoka. It's just that I'm so goddamn lazy. Meanwhile, I've abused poor old Willem WAY too many times, and Shaka's catching up with Willem infact. Huayna is 3rd, I believe.

EDIT: Add Babylon to that list. I've only ever played 1 game with Hammurabi, and it was hardly a fair game to start with.

I generally do random civ unless it's on a premade map and unlike some people

I don´t like to play civs I don´t really like, so USA is out.

I don't steroetype or hold any ill resentment towards any particular nation or people group.

I demand the 23 people and counting who voted for the Zulu begin a game of Civ and play as them now! They're the most fun civ in the game. If you're a warmonger, there's not many civs that can match the Zulu.

I agree 100%. You've never tried out how great Shaka is until you actually try him. I REALLY hated even considering the Zulu until I played a game as Shaka :D

I have never played as Korea. A little funny since I lived in South Korea for almost 6 years. (I'm not Korean by the way.)
