Germany and the Mongols tend to march a stack right up to your capital and try to take you out early every now and then. Germany starts with Archers and Spears, so they usually succeed if they do it.
England, by far. I NEVER seem to manage to stay on their good side. EVER. They're always at war with me for some reason or another. I've learned to take them out as early as possible.
I get along fine with the Mongols and Aztec. If anything, they've always been my strongest allies in most games. Most odd.
In games with lots of war... Spain... especially on a pangea map.
In games where I play more peacefully and want to research quickly AND the AI can do serious research, Sumeria.
Anyone who is near me and is considered "stronger" than me. Before iron age, I usually am war with atleast 5-7 AI's.
Personally I don't like Zulu and greece, both are tough nut to crack, Wich I cannot crack without using catapults or superior force (outnumbering defenders 4:1).
I do dislike Zulu due their sneak attacks (impi can move two tiles[means:bye defenseless border town!])
America is no slouch in the backstabbing department either. Another one I often run into is China, you need to guard your border towns well once Chivalry is out there. A Rider rush can really be a pain. Maybe we need a multiple choice poll to determine who the worst offenders are.
Iroqouis. The RNG always picks them, and they always end up super-powerful. I wasn't to pleased to see "The rampaging Iroqouis forces have destroyed the Germans" or something the turn after I met them.
