Which Civ's First Look video will be released during the week of Aug 22-26?

I'm thinking Rome or Greece. But considering this whole 2 leader thing for Greece, I'm leaning more towards Rome. (If the 2 leader thing exists, I think they will wait until later to announce it)

Are we certain a Civ will be revealed during the week of Aug 22-26? Could it not be a different first look video?

I feel like Firaxis chooses which civilization to show next by using a dartboard with all the unrevealed civilizations on it and then throwing a dart to see which one should be revealed next. That or they have some crazy pattern to the reveals that none of us have figured out yet.

They dont need a dartboard, they can just throw it on the leader-poster! :D

I had the impression they switched to revealing mechanics with gameplay videos and FL are only for civs now. Of course I might be wrong.

I voted Rome again, except for last week when I voted Germany

But what is 'Other'?

I'm thinking its gonna be a religious civ and we also get some more info on religious war and stuff.

But, of course, I'm hoping for Greece to see how that is getting handled.

I voted for Rome 4 or 5 times in a row now, and each time we got a civ I consider more interesting. So I keep voting for Rome, hoping it will be something else ;)

I would very much welcome a two-leader video for Greece, Kongo or the video for the Norse civilization.

Since at this point there seems to be no particular pattern on which civ is revealed next, I'm just going to vote for a civ I want to see next: Russia

Well, hopefully Rome will be even more interesting once they announce it...

I think that they are basing it off of the assumption that religious civs are on deck to be announced.

IN-DI-A
INDIA

:crazyeye: Specially since we know Spain will be led by Phillip II, I see little reason for Spain to have a faith bonus and India be ignored - even though it's the birthplace of Hinduism, Buddhism, Jainism, and Sikhism!

I will be extremely disappointed is India is "Overpopulation: The Civ" again.

I want to see what Saladin is up to these days. He seems like a good candidate for a religious-based civ with some military capabilities.

This. I'm really hoping for at least one Civ with some religious combat elements, and Arabia is definitely the best candidate out of those left.

You don't think that Philip II would be faith-centered?

I don't think anything because we've had no word from Firaxis about Spain, but I do not want Spain to have a religion focus. Or, in the least, to have a religion focus over both Arabia and India, both of which are far better fits for a heavy religion-focused gameplay, being the birthplace of so many world religions, than Spain ever was.

That's not to say that Spain can't have anything related to faith - a lot of civilizations so far offer some bonus that would help in faith generation - but for faith to be a focus of Spain while India gets stupid stuff like overpopulation is very misguided.

I get the sense that the only reason so many people choose Spain as a religion civ for this game is because Isabella of Castile was specially nasty in Civilization IV in regards to religion - which makes sense, she wasn't known as Isabella the Catholic for nothing. But that doesn't make Spain suddenly a center of faith (in the same way that India and Arabia are).
And seeing as Philip II will be leading Spain this time (for now), it makes even less sense. I know this guy for being the game who was also King of Portugal in addition to King of Spain, and little more.

So yeah, leave the heavy religious game for India and Arabia, have Spain focus on exploration, colonization, and gold. And the killing of natives. :P
