H'Wacha is a good UU. Played COTM, It is cool to clean military units on hill or take big cities (7+ pop). + Upgrade to artillery can be usefull.
Korea is not that bad. It also offers a good timing for Golden Age.

Never played America and not willing too.

I kept some of my Hwach'as around after getting Artillery. They still have lethal land bombard way before Bombers, very useful.

This isn't a hard choice, its extremely easy choice: Korea is by far better. Superb UU and better trait combination... Pick a more even civs next time!

Hwach'a's a good UU for the higher levels (on levels below emperor it's a complete waste of resources, except for triggering your GA). Korea is Sci/Som, America is Exp/Ind. Sci/Com wins every time IMHO, plus the F15 really sucks!. So I voted Korea.

BTW: Tomoyo is right. Portugal is even worse. The UU is better than the F15, but the trait combination is the worst in the game. Exp/Sea. On a pangaea map Sea is nearly useless, on a archipelago map Exp is useless and on a continents map they're both slightly useful. :)

Koea is good for science. It's UU, while not fabulous, is still useable. The UU of America ranks among the suckiest of all. Therefore I chose Korea.

CAM H: You seem to have done a good job of figuring out much of my style of playing CIV. Thanks for the tips--I'm sure they'll be usefull.

I expect I'll finish my current C3C game tonight. My next one will definately be Korea.

I dont even use artillary, i always wait until bombers so thats pretty much why i rank the two about the same.

In my first PTW deity game I chose the Americans out of all civs!

I like industrious so I can build things with less workers, and I liked expansionist to get something from a goody hut in that game. The commercial trait is good if you live long enough to get to use it! This may be less of an issue at emperor or below.

BTW I won the game with cannon, cavalry and musketman - golden age not necessary.

Of course with C3C the ag trait is the strongest.

Interesting comments on the Korean UU - may have to try them out.

Sorry I could not decide which was better

lol! Well - I'm not pushing you to take Korea, but it just seems that a Commercial Civ with a late-ish UU could suit your style. If Korea can get to both Metallurgy and Banking relatively quickly, it can be pretty well poised to flex some Industrial Age muscle. I am not suggesting that it's necessarily the best Civ for your style, but it would seem to have a better fit than some others.

Best of luck!

I picked America because of the quick expansion early on. I'm slightly biased, though, because the one time I did Korea I got stuck with an all-jungle island surrounded by ocean, and didn't even really get to use the UU, as I got Replaceable Parts before my first war.

Lethal bombardment from H-wamatmatah(..) are not so usefull. I'm happy with a 1hp unit for promotion/MGL :p
Anyway America's UU is worst and traits are too weak for my playstyle. Indus is really oki but exp civ are only good for quick conquest or long game on emperor maxi.. warriors could scout too.

+, Korea begin with alphabet, curragh available. Masonnery is good for prebuild but prebuild is rarely for other victory than cultural one where sci is better..

No match for Korea IMHO
