Please don't make a tit of yourself.

I'm not, and tit is offensive, don't use that word.

Anyone can get cancer, even good innocent people who have clean lives.

Most people with AIDEs are either promiscuous or are too lazy to use contraception.

I do understand that there are many children born in Africa with AIDEs, and it's not their fault, so i have nothing but sympathy for them, and also the lack of contraceptive and education in Africa. But I have no sympathy for those who end up with AIDEs in developed nations.

Maybe most, but not all. You can get AIDs even with a contraceptive while having sex, and many people succumb to it from blood transfutions in countries that dont regularly scan blood donors for blood transmitted diseases.

Homosexuality, it makes people do bad things that will make their souls burn in hell for all eternity, my pastor said.

Sounds like a regular fred phelps to me no offense.

Id stay clear of that guy if i were you.

Honestly, not to sound like an ass, but wouldnt you want to get rid of a problem that affects your common man then one in the third world countries that doesnt?

Perf i know you live in the United States even though you never gave away your location...

So people in the third world aren't your "common man"? What are they, then?

And Perfection gives away his location all the time...

Well, last time i saw him was 15 years ago, so i've been doing a good job.

But actually most mainstream churches agree with that statement.

We already have a solution to diarreah. Its called clean drinking water.

Lets focus are money onto researching cures for other more pressing matters ok?

Yes, most Christians, including me would agree with that statement, but we strongly disagree with most of Fred Phelp's statements, and all of his tactics. Fred Phelps is an abomination, and a shame to both Christians and Americans.

To be frank, so are you if you take the attitude "I don't care about AIDS because only sinful promiscuous people get it."

And that's precisely why I want to see it cured first. The solution already exists, we just need people with the political backbone to implement it. I want all the other diseases cured too, but we don't know how to do that yet! We have the solution for dhearhea, let's implement it!

That's why I'm waiting for Pasi to tell me if I'm supposing an opportunity cost or not ...

I'm not sure what you mean. Could you elaborate?

Is the question asking whether I wish resources are taken from other diseases in order to focus on one disease first? Or whether I just think that the resources devoted to my 'favourite' is increased?

I suppose he's saying if we're talking about real disease control implementation or a hypothetical situation where aliens deliver the cure of your choice in a box tomorrow morning.

AIDS and diarrhea are preventable, CVD, stroke, and diabetes are largely lifestyle caused, there already is a cure for malaria, there's no hope for a stupidity cure, so either cancer or neurological for me. I would say neurological because I value my mind more than my body.

More or less. No research or funding would be taken away from other diseases, I'm just asking which one you would prefer to be cured somehow.

Diabetes...but thats only really because my sister has it, and its been really hard on her.

Worldwide, it would be cancer I guess...but I really only care about me :)

AIDS then, of all the diseases, we've bolloxed up that one the most.

Though I think that cancer will be the most expensive in the short-term, but long-term the neurological diseases will take the most resources to defeat.
