Which version with which vanilla install?

I'm a bit confused about the various versions out there.

Civ4 + 1.61 patch, BTS + 3.13 patch, then FFH .25 L were installed in that order.

.25L was installed in the BTS folder. When launched, I got a zillion XML errors before the game properly launched.

Thinking that maybe .25L is designed to work with civ4 rather than BTS,
I cut and pasted .25L into the vanilla mod folder. Upon launching, I get a windows box "civ 4 has generated errors and will shut down." Civ4 doesn't even properly start.

I'm not at all clear on the version compatibility and other requirements. Is there any help available which may clarify?

25L is definately bts 3.13

did you download the actual mod as well as the patch or just the l patch?

Did you actually install it into the mods folder or have you made any changes to the standard bts files?

If neither of them i don't know what could be cuasing the problem... try redownloading and starting again?

The most likely is that you only have the Patch L, not the actual FfH .25 (as Rusty Said).

Your install order should be: Civ4, BtS (will patch Civ4 to 1.61 during installation if you did not do so yourself), BtS 3.13, FfH 2.25, FfH Patch L. Then if you desire you can also do FfH Media Pack.

Or you can wait 2 days and replace FfH 2.25 with FfH 2.3 and do nothing more after that (not sure if media pack will be working with 2.3, but it ought to I believe)

No, sorry. Kael has used many of the features supplied in BtS, so it will be required.
The version availible now is the last availble for vanilla Civ 4.

I have the full .25 install and patch L. I'll reinstall into the BTS mods folder and see what happens. Last time I was swamped with a sackful of XML errors before the game loaded.
