Bird - you could just make it that making too many TC's makes them compete and they all get less trade, and you can lose more than the one you just got, as they all suffer from lack of trade when trade is too spread out

I will do some more.

I see Genoa and Kalmar's income went down, I predict that Portugal as well as Khmeria's incomes will go down :(

I am still working on them, but was distracted by "other BirdNES events".

Whoa, major losses for the Khmer and Portugal.

Yes they did take a hit. I will finish them all, maybe not tonight, but by tomorrow. I have some ideas onb how to repair some of the damage to Portugal and Khmer and maybe others.

I can add TCs or tweak some of the values for specific VoD. Once all the nations are done, I will poke around with things.

Yes indeed, generally the greater seafaring/colonial/trading nations lost income while almost all the non seafaring/colonial/trading gained because they had no income from TPs nor trade routes to lose and because they were in Europe and by such had nothing to lose and everything to gain. :(

Bird, the TPs are still included in the VoD wealth calculation right? Perhaps IP should have the 1.25 as well no?

These are for NEXT turn right and not this turn?

TPs are still in the VoD weath calc and, ATM, IP is at 1. Changing it to 1.25 is possible. And yes this change would not take effect until next turn, but don't try to get cutsey and try and exploit the system to take advantage of the changes. ;) That goes for Abaddon too!

When have I exploited the rules? That's abaddon's domain, not mine and he's free to take it :p And yes, I do believe IP's modifier should be changed to 1.25, after all, we do connect IOS and CJ (who are also both 1.25) as well as the uniquely and superior goods produced in the region. :mischief:

EDIT: You know, I love your nes birdjaguar! :D :D :D :D I mean, most other mods would just give up and not try about fixing the rules :D ;)

I haven't paid particularly close attention to Europe lately. When has Abaddon exploited the rules?

I did a quick test of making all three 1.25 and neither Khmer nor Portugal added EP. Your trade value (new stat) went from 3.11 to 3.28. So that change is not enough. I will try a variety of things.

Abaddon has played a smart game and has worked hard to increase his EP by taking advantage of places where my rules are weak. You and he have similar playing styles and draw my attention to things. ;)

And no, Alex, you have not exploited the rules. I was just kidding. Don't get paranoid. :)

I'm ALWAYS paranoid :p I mean though, how will history in the nes and to the people in the stories that their ruler exploited the rules to make more money? Makes no sense

That makes no sense. What would make more sense, is that each region has an export, and If to many TC's have that export (especially in that area) then what J eps said about less trade goes on due to the competition, maybe? But what J eps says still doesn't make sense, since more competition keeps prices down, making more trade.

Grrrr. "Exploiting the rules"

NO

I just take the time to read them and work out the most efficient path to take in order for my nation to grow.

and i will do it again.

I am finding all your rule changes are in order to nef what myself/Alex/etc have done, and give the lazy sods who do nothing another leg up. Its not as if what i do is secret, everyone else could do it.

Just because most nations in Europe have been playing silly buggers and been busy bashing each other over the head, when they could have launched into the unknown and colonised as i have, why should they suddenly gain?

This was a rant, but an ineffectual one i know. How about i write a detailed way to grow so all nations have no excuse once i get to grips with the new rules? Then would it be ok?

As I said above, good players make better rules. I do not have any problems with your play and fully expect you to "test" any new rules to the fullest. :hatsoff:

I certainly am not making changes to "hamstring" you and Alex for your good play. I have not finished with the changes so don't get too bent out of shape yet. One reason I post all this is so that players will understand the changes and be able to use them to play better. I have always posted all the formulas and how I calculate things, just so player would know. This will be no different.

I am hoping that the changes will redirect play along a path that fits better with the time period. I know that changes the rules is not fun for players and it seems that I'm tryig to work against them in doing so, but that is not thecse; I'm trying to make the rules better an better so the game gets better an better. About the time we finish, they will be perfect. ;)

Fair enough, tho i still she that the outcome generally reduced the deviation of scores, closing the stretch from rich to poor.

Is the main thread on hold until the new rules are sorted out then?

Also, i look forward to the rerun - The Egyptian Empire will not fall next time!! ;)

Ethiopia 10 to 7
Are you sure that's right? Using the in-thread formulae, I get 9.

Player stats test for the new calculations are done and posted above. Those in red lost EP. I will now see what I can do to fix those problems.

*thinks to himself* How on earth am I going to explain my income lost of almost 25% storywise
