While We Wait: Part 4

@Isry- That's a bit of an... awkward typo.

I've never seen the movie, being a distance away from a city for the last few months.

I missed an "o" in "good."
This is a random, hopefully uninsulting, but potentially really bad question that i pose out of sheer curiousity.

If people leave the o out of g-d as a sign of respect, what would you do if you were writing the chinese character for it? Leave out some strokes?

Sweeny todd was good, especially at the beach.

happy purim! I am too sober right now, I can still type wlel.

Interesting question. I really don't know. I'm assuming that there is some sort of standard regarding this, given that Jews have been present in China since at least eighth century C.E. and very likely since 231 B.C.E. The rabbi of one of these synagogues may be able to help you.

Good yontif j_eps, erez, and any other Jews in the NESing community that I am not aware of!
And yes j_eps, you need more wine! Gay veck!

Ok, name one thing that you have done other than abuse me vocally, and take advantage of my noobiness.
Answer your question
Tried to assist you in a nice way before others made fun of you
Other than that, our direct interaction has been purposefully limited because i specifically didn't want to be mean or "abuse you". Our other interaction was completely IC(explained below)
You take advantage of me. You said that I could pay you in BirdNES to keep you from attacking me. And I even had that in my draft orders, and you would have had one extra ep, had it not been for the intervention of Little Boots.
That's how my nation acts in character. I would have felt bad and not accepted the EP for OOC reasons if you had actually given it to me, but you established IC contact with my nation, and your tiny, far away island nation was begging for insurance. We offered it, and we did it with the greed and guile that are the trademarks of Opulenthic dealings and
And sometime ago, when I asked for what I could use as a definition for spam, to prevent further spam... Justo said spam was defined as everything I did. So technically, I can't really be blamed for that. It just wasn't specific enough.
I would define spam as non-related/non-constructive posts that are also non-conducive to a better community. Posts should fall into the category of either being construtive(i.e. forwarding) of a NES or thread or should be posts that better the NESing community in some fashion

Actually, I am 12. And I am positive you weren't a dejected loser like me.
A) Age isn't a factor.
B) You really shouldn't be a dejected loser. Glimmers of humor shine through in your posts, and you should use that to your advantage in person to person contact and in the real world. You may not be a good NESer, but you're obviously a good person(god that sound corny, but its true). Look man, its okay to spam IRL. Make jokes, be friendly and actually care about people and their problems(and help them) and you won't be a loser. And don't call yourself a loser, it makes you seem like a loser. I have faith in you.

When you join any of the numerous NESes I play, you will notice that I am considerably better at some than others. All that shall be explained later. I am better at some other countries than others because I know about them. For example, in BombNES, I believe I am doing better than most other NESes because I know about the country. I had to do quite a few reports on Spain before, and know what is IC and OOC. Also, I joined that NES after a few months of intense practice. So, at the start, I felt a lot more confident about not getting annihilated by another country, and thus improved my ability as Spain.
This is exactly what we've been saying. When you take a nation, read the wikipedia article on it so you get a feel for its culture and its history. As I've said numerous times, you have great potential, just stop being so lazy. If you read an article for everytime you put up a non-constructive post, you'd be amazing right now.

@SP I don't recall ever saying everything you said is spam and if I did that's not what I meant to say so I apologize if that is how I said that.
But what I class as spam or unnecessary chat are these things. When someone asks questions that are explained in the rules(I'm cool with this if someone doesn't understand the rules), have been answered previously by someone within the thread or ultimately are questions that are none of their business.

e.g.
Asking why your economy isn't growing.
Asking what you can spend on.
Asking if France is going to invade your country or another country.

There is also just random chatter and so on of course.

How many of you enjoy playing in mostly story based NESes?

I like that sort of thing, but

A. I can't write worth a damn
and
B. Even if I could I sort of have to force myself to write a story every update, which would be what, about every week or so? And I'm already writing so much for school...

But still, I joined PureNES 'cause I liked that sort of thing. I didn't have to send in super complicated orders, and that's the part I liked about it. I think it sort of evened the playing field, at least a little bit.

I do. Unfortunately, I frequently don't have the time to write a good story for something.

I do, it is just that sometimes I cannot find/think of interesting things to write about.

Or I am just too lazy. :mischief:

I don't. I rarely have enough inspiration.

Another question I have involves stories. How do you guys make your stories so fat and long without half of it being gibberish? I mean, how does that huge amount of inspiration become words almost every single week! It takes me a month to write a single essay, and you guys are mass producing ten times better in minutes!!

@sp1013: You just need to write more. The only way to get better is to write a lot, read a lot, and take criticism.

I still don't believe it takes you a month to write a single essay. How long are these essays anyway? And what are they about? Why do you write them? Can I see an example?

Sp, its education. We're older than you.

I got quite used to cranking out several pages of a4 in a short while still at school, after my degree I don't think much to writing 10,000 word stuff :)

I'll Pm you a creation myth I made for English, and the play for it, if you like. I was exaggerating about the month part, only like a week and half or so.

I guess identifying with your country goes a long way to being able to have inspiration to write stories. Though I guess that's easier for me than for others :p
