Why?

When I look down I don't see any male appendages between my legs. And my birth-certificate says I was born in 1992.

Also I have no memories of the 1980s.

If you're not googling things like shoes and purses and clothes - female clothes - bridal shop stuff, celebrities, popstars, models, etc. etc. I'd think google would presume male.

Some of those are right, others are wrong. Shopping-Apparel is wrong, but makes sense because I get a lot of those ads for some reason, and I occasionally click them to give my favorite web pages a couple of cents or whatever for a referral. Finance makes no sense at all. I don't invest or use any financial sites.

They were slightly off on the age range.

They have no info on me cause I block it . You can also opt out of it on that site.

On some friends of mine it had the age off by up to 20 years and some pretty random interests. Even the wrong gender on one. Suddenly I'm not so intimidated by this tracking stuff anymore.

Opted-in to what? It's part of the NAI. Basically the whole point is to target you with advertizing they think you'll be interested in. They call it "Behavioral Advertising". If you're not interested in receiving advertizing then there's no reason to opt-in.

-Uh... arts and entertainment is wayyy off, I would say RPGs is off now, but the simulation/strategy gaming is correct. You'd think for the amount I use Google-news they would have realized I follow international news, politics, and science stuff. But it appears not. No reference to CFC, Boardgame Geek, the Paradox forums, or AGEod forums, all online communities that I post or lurk at. Missed board gaming entirely, actually. Considering how much time I spend talking about books or looking at books on Amazon, you'd think at least one of those categories would be literature.
