who else loves the music?

Personally, I like to stick Motorhead's "Ace of Spades" on the CD player and roll in the tanks... :D

the modern guitar one gets annoying after a while.

Absolutely. They should let us exclude that one so we don't have to turn off all the music. The first time I got to the modern era I heard that guitar, turned off the music, and left it that way.

I find that music always disappoints me in all computer games, including all the civ games. So far.

I like that piano song they play during the industrial era. :D

:goodjob: yup

I have looked for that and in my memory
this is a part a "piano concerto" by W.A. Mozart

very relaxing to listen to...not only in the game :)

well i have 1700 MHz Pentium 4 :-D

I leave my musicmatch jukebox running with the songs i wanna hear

from Billy Idol to the actual soundtrack :D

and I play

To all those who find one track particularly annoying: I don't know if it works on Wintel, but on the Mac, provided you have done a full install, replace the MP3 files in the appropriate location by other MP3s, renaming them appropriately. So take your fav song, name it "SmashFull.mp3" (I suppose this is the one that causes most offence), and your problem is solved (I haven't checked if the song lengths cause any trouble, but VBR encoding seems fine). Of course a normal winamp or (behold) a stereo can also serve the music that you really like.

SimCity 3000's music is brilliant, but I think some of the Civ III stuff is quite good, too. Otherwise I like some of Franz Liszt's symphonic poems quite fitting for (conquest style) civ games (got a CD with Mazeppa, Les préludes, Tasso and the Mephisto Waltz I), or Beethoven's Eroica (the 2nd movement of which we all remember as the 'sorry, you've lost' track from Civ 1).

Which one?!

The saxophone in the gutiar piece annoys me in a very unique way! It sounds like the music they play during love scences on a skin-imax porno. It makes me think Shannon Tweed is gonna become a military unit.

Actually the music is good in all eras, it creates ambient, but in the modern Era, it's really great. Anyway, if I get tired of it I can always play Garbage from the second CD reader :goodjob:

I love the Civ3 music. I've only used romans but love all the music it plays. Whenever anyone is watching me play they always say "That music sucks!" or "Whats with that music?" But i love it. For some reason, it changes view of Civ3 and makes fighting seem more like a vietnam war. this is really true when you have democracy and everyone is rioting due to the war.

It's ok, but I don't like the modern era 'kenny G with spanish guitars' music. makes me feel like I'm at a Barnes N' noble waiting for some yuppie coffee drink from the mini starbucks.

In CivII there was an option you could choose which music you wanted to listen or change the music sometimes so the game was not boring. In CivIII can we do the same?I'd like to know that.

Come on, Civ 3 does really have good music. Moreover, it varies during ages, do doesn't get too boring for me.

I do, however, wish for even MORE soundstracks in PtW.

gee i wouldnt know, there still isnt a freaking patch for me. sound fx play over and over untill they overload my system and my computer crashes. i also have found a dozen or so people with the same problem. the fix- mute all sounds, this blows allot. i wanna hear this, but in true customer support fashon, no reply that can actually help. i guess thats why i play my ps2 more now, o well.

I sometimes listen to Dj Adolf's Seig Heil or SS SA Mix while playing. I'm not a racist..nor do I hate jews..nor am I a nazi. Those songs just make the game more interesting to play.

Especially when I'm the Germans and I'm blitzing everyone with my Panzers.

I like most of the music. The only problem I have with it is that I'm a long-game, culture or space victory type who's games take a long time, so having that music repeat over and over gets a bit repetitive.

For those of you who want to be able to customize the music that plays a bit you could probably add or remove mp3s from the files they're in. This way you could take out any specific tracks that you didn't like. I haven't tried this though so I don't know if it will work.
