participate in a succession game?

WTH is a succession game?

A game that is passed from player to player.Playing a set amount of turns..say 10.Each successive leader runs our civ as he/she sees fit,saves and sends it on to the next player and so on.

I propose a large random world,deity, raging hoardes,no restart for eliminated civs.Possibly flat map.Open for discussion.

We do it at Apolyton and it is great fun, so check civ2/general for examples if you like.It is challenging as the previous leader may have ruled in a completely different style than you are accustomed to and you want to do as well as you can on your turns.At least not hurt the civ too bad

10 players should be the limit per game.I can play either 2.42 or MGE.We won't mix and match though.Seperate games can be started if needed.

To start it may be 15 turns first time thru,then 10 in subsequent turns.Open for discussion.

You need Civ2(duh),an e-mail than can accept attachments, and a compression utility like zip.

So if you're game,post here with your version and ANY game setting suggestions.We'll gather e-mail addresses later.

You will be expected to post some kind of account of each set of turns you play.Creativity encouraged but not required.

mac vs pc compatibilty is NOT a problem.

This could be a cool thing, that way we can see if other players agree with our own choices!!! Even if 15/10 turns really isn't much time to make a real impact!!

I am in to! If I can, I only have classic civ.

And shadowdale 10 truns is a long time to do things on that you followers wouldn't like. For instance, you can break the peace or buy and send off a nuclear missile.

Sounds like a great idea. 5 turns is good, though it could take a couple of months!

You can count me in if my Civ version is OK. I don't know whether it's gold or classic or whatever. All I know is that I can bring the version number up on the screen and it says verson 2.7.8l. Does anyone know what that is?

I would love to be included as well - but I only have Civ2 Classic as well. I would like to join the classic team if possible. Great idea.

I wonder if we can all agree on a Civ to be?

I don't see any reason that we shouldn't Kev.
I think the real problems will come in other
forms...I am of course underestimating the
importance of the choosing of a Civ. I
guess we will see in the end...and it should
make for an interesting time.

What the hell I'm in too. I have both versions {

} so put me on both lists. 5-15 turns, doesn't matter to me. Shouldn't take too much time out of the day early on any way.

ok shaping up.2 seperate games is good.Maybe we could start on the same map.

It'll go by fairly quick and you only have to play short sessions at each reign you have.The biggest slower downer is when someone is MIA for awhile.

I would suggest that the first 3 players play 15 turns each.There isn't too much happening at that stage.Then go to 10 turns.Later as the civ grows we may want to cut back to 5 turns.Beleive me...you will ask yourself " is that 15 turns allready?"

I'm pretty much open to any settings.If we want to compare games then we need to start the exact same game twice.Same settings,same map,same starting location.That shouldn't be a problem as MGE has no problems with 2.42 saves.The other way is a problem.

either random map or custom if anyone knows of an interesting map to play on.

NO giga maps please.They are good,but not for this type of game.I would like a minimum of large(80x120).But thats not set in stone.
