Is it just me or have you noticed that getting into an open borders with Gandhi is a good way of getting other civs angry at you? I get more of "we want you to break your agreements with Gandhi" than with others. I always turn them down but now I think it may be a better idea not to get into any agreements with Gandhi in the first place. The problem is, I like Gandhi. He's always willing to trade techs.

Ghandi tends to found his own religion, and if an AI founds a religion he tends to stick with it. This means that Ghandi is fairly likely to have a different religion than a lot of AIs, which is probably why they don't like him.

Yeah now I understand why nobody likes me either. On a side note, if you're going to found a religion and stick with it, it's a good idea to get the misisonaries to spread it and get other civs to convert.

Ghandi is not the problem, it is Asoka. I get the same problem when I do deals with Asoka. Oh, & he does not have his own religion he's got my religion. That makes it worse.

Not just the religion , as well he tends to trade with just about anyone which gets him a lot of "you have traded with our worst enemy" penalties with various other civs...

Conversely, if he gets quite a few civs to convert to him early on, and also a decent chunk of land, he can become an unstoppable science monster, as he'll just spam cottages build virtually no troops, in the knowledge that he's surrounded by a blanket of love ;)

In that case the required method is to invade, pillage, and then punt him as hard as you can off the highest mountain top, with the words "next time build some troops you annoying pacifist fool" ringing in his ears..

LOL, couldn't agree more.

In Ancient and similiar starts, I find that Gandhi gets ganged on occasion. He focuses on techs and peace instaed of a military and manages to piss off people around him.
