Why do you have the name you do?

i'm named after the hero of the book Crime and Punishment.
when i was about 12 or 13, i read the dam book.
and found out that i'm named after a guy who kills an old lady for prety much no reason. then he goes a little crazy, not completely, but somewhat.

so i'm named after an immaginary murdering phyco.

my younger sister was almost named after the sister of the character i'm named after, but my father and grandparents basicaly told my mom "no, enough is enough" and gave her a the name of one of my grandmothers.

Surname from my father's side.

Middle as I ruined my uncle's party of the same name by being born, a mere few minutes the next day.

First as my dad liked it, though my Scottish mother wanted me to be called either Angus or Donald... my dogs were called that instead.

I prefer my Scottish half.

because my parents picked one name each and I'm known by my middle name because its a tradition on my fathers side.

Though I dont know why my first name is spelt the frenchie way and but its a constant embarassment.

I honestly don't know. I assume its because my mother liked the sound of it.

No lie. My mom and dad got a dog when they moved into their new house. My mom wanted to name the dog either Mac or Zach. My dad wanted to name it Tank. They fought over and she said, and I quote "If your going to name the dog 'Tank' I am going to name the baby Zach." The honor involved in my first name.

My middle name was taken from a soap opera charactor.

My first name is the name of my Grandpa (father's side), Martti. My middle name was first to be made as Jokkum (The person who moved to Finland from Germany in the 1600-hundreds and changed his name to Palmén. The first Palmén and the start of our Family.), but my parents had a change at heart and instead named me Taneli. Taneli is the Finnish form of Daniel btw. And not too common in Finland, I guess they wanted my name to sound like a Noble's one like the rest of my family.

So my full name is: Martti Taneli Palmén.

Ditto. Plus my surname is stupidly long, so a short one 'was needed'. Same for the middle name I got, which a crappy non-descript Catholic saint's name. A short one. But the initials JP are what my folks thought swung the balance.
