why don't the developers give a *******?

Even if they had, discovering what the bug is, fixing it, testing the fix and releasing it in the span of three weeks is still a very tight schedule - and would have required pushing back the entire NFP release schedule (which thy would have started working on long before Vietnam released) for it

Doesn't make much sense.

Uh, because that just became a thing like three weeks ago?
That is all this thread about.
Adding new content constantly enforces new problems, that is normal with so tight schedule, BUT Firaxis should be aware of it while promising new content every month and organize their work in a way allowing both fixing and developing.
However it looks like 95% efforts are on creating new content and ignoring solving major problems.

And things like AI not improving resources is a thing that kills the game and 3 weeks is enough to make any change to it. New content however blocks it and creates new problems

I hope Fraxis dosen't drop support for civ 6 after April 2021... civ 6 needs A LOT of fixing that could take most of 2021... I don’t think two updates could fix it... especially when March update could bring its own troubles. We need support and upates till November at the least.

I have been playing Civ for 30 years. I have bought every version and every extension.
It seems to me the Civ VI developers, unlike their predecessors, don't give a ******* about my wishes or the wishes of other loyal players.
The Civ VI developers only seem to be interested in introducing big, flashy and unnecessary new "modes" and such like.
There is always a video with them boasting about how clever they have been to have come up with some ridiculous new nonsense. Most annoying of all they always pay lip service to the wonderful fans that they COMPLETELY IGNORE.
I am not interested in any silly new modes (which I will not play) - to improve my enjoyment I want all the basic game's annoying little faults fixed!

I have a framed poster of Civ II on my wall, and am about as long-term a fan of the series as there is. You don't speak for me, so kindly keep my name out your mouth.

To say they don't care is disingenuous at best and an outright lie at worst. The long-term support and their acknowledgement of community at large is fantastic. Does it address everything? No, it isn't going to. In the end they are going to make the game THEY think is best. You may not like every change they make, I don't. But if the majority of changes are things you don't like then the new game just isn't for you. Good thing there are 5 other amazing versions of it out there.

They should've dropped eveything and focus on fixing it. Improving resources should be taken priory over planes.

You're assuming they can't walk & chew gum at the same time. We've already had someone from Firaxis mention that they are aware of the Luxury Resource bug, & are working on fixing it at the moment. The Air Warfare stuff has been an issue for a lot longer, so fixing it was a higher priority IMHO.

I agree, if he was such a huge fan, then why's he only a Chieftain on these forums? Firaxis provides much more long-term support for games than almost any other Game Developer I can think of. Maybe he'd be happier playing Anthem or Star Wars Battllefront II?

I am bit worried since Fraxis said nothing about patching series post April... and I doubt April updates could solve EVERYTHING. I doubt it can solve problems with March upates and New Game mod.

And you don't speak for me and I have been playing Civ for just as long or longer.

My view is that they are prioritizing quantity rather than quality of content, whereas I believe I would like to see the opposite. However, I realize that my view may be unpopular or uninformed.

If AI will not be fixed in Civ 6, what is the chance that it will be properly done in Civ 7? I'm afraid I'll have to say goodbye to the Civ6 for HUMANKIND, and I guess that's inevitable.

It's a lot easier to fix the AI in a new game than it is to modify it in an existing and circulated version. I doubt 6 will be fixed, especially with COVID-19, but that doesn't mean it won't for VII.

You missed the point/joke or maybe you didn't lol.
And you missed the point of DJ_Tanner's post. His point isn't to show off his playtime with civ series. But rather to show that Civ devs are NOT bad as you paint them to be. They ARE listening... it is that they are slow.

The problem is that they have no proper response mechanism in place to hotfix bugs, etc. Instead they add them to the 3 month long cycle, which is ridiculous.
Which is why I hope April isn't a final month for Civ 6 support. I hope there still is upate for the rest of 2021.

That is not the problem at all. It is there inability to get quick changes out due to their unwieldy patching process.
Remember they still need to "update " evey months. Hopefully after April the hotfix would come much faster.
