Why Is Youth So Left-Wing?

Then either you or I? I guess you assume I was born into wealth.

The poor are poor because they dont take advantage of the chances given to them. They are the ones who chose not to get an education.

Then please explain me why African Americans in general are poor compared to the white Americans. Is it because they are stupid? Is it always their own fault? Has the environment they are born into no part of the guilt? Is you really belive that, then I guess you have inherited your parents stupidity. Oh, and you're a racist too.

I wasnt born in an urban area, but I was born into deep poverty. The US poverty level for a two-person household is $12,120. My family (which is two people in household) makes about $8,000.
I was raised with an average yearly income of $1,800. That is no joke. I was tormented severly as a child for wearing the same thing two or three days in a row. I was gifted, but I was poor. Child services came to get me, I lied to them, telling them I wasn't beaten. I had to, I knew by that time I couldn't be raised by anyone because I was too 'hard'. Today, I am glad I didn't because I probably wouldn't have found Islam. You realize poverty is a cycle. The job I have today pays extremely well for my age, but it was sheer luck I managed it and was because of my build and not my intelligence. Had the job never came, which of course was luck and a little bit of Allah's doing, I could not afford the clothes to wear for Job interviews and such. If I look like I live on the streets, then no employeer really won't hire you and I end up living on the streets. When you wear nice clothes you are given a job. Sometimes, the inevitable happens too, though. Two poor people are slower mentally, they have kids, and the chances of their kids being intelligent are slim to none. This is one of the things that make our nation great. If you can make it, the government gives you the chance to do so. If you can't make it, the government protects you so you don't end up having to do steal so you can survive.

They are poor because they fail to take advantage of educational oppurinty. That is further reenforced by the left giving handouts to all the poor, causing them to do even less work.

Of course its racist to disagree with what you say.

Azadre, Im sure you'd be glad to know I support universal healthcare and education for children. My comments about people being lazy and thinking the government will save them at targeted at adults. You couldnt help what you were born in to.

This is OT, but why would Allah help you out and not the much worse-off african kids?

If you got a good job you should thank your employer and yourself, certainly not Allah. Because if we must thank a deity for our luck, then the people who have no luck at all can blame the deity for their misery, and that would make Allah/any other deity a pretty screwed up one.

If you are raised to think it is over before it begins, you will not ammount. Kids can not be blamed how they are raised. Remember, they are kids.

They choose how they act on those teachings. The only way people will ever improve is if they work for it. The current welfare state teaches them not to do so.

Because that is my faith... I do not know. I don't work for a business, I help a wealthy but frugle gentleman who suffered a stroke 20 years ago and he pays me $35 a week for helping him out and he only pays that because he is one the one paying for my computer. I wasn't looking for this job when I got it, it was found me.

But you agree with me that if that's the work of a deity it's a highly unfair one.

I have nothing against Islam or other faiths, in fact I'm not an atheist. But I think it's very healthy to question all faiths, especially the part concerning "God/Allah helps those who ask". I don't buy that.

That's what I'm talking about, you should be more critical about your beliefs. Otherwise you will be easily manipulated to serve whatever political ends.

But let's stop this debate before a mod sees it ;)

getting back on topic...

Everyone knows that the youth is becoming liberal on the issues. What will happen in the next elections? Will the Democrats rule the country? or will the Republicans change their core views

As more Liberal youth reach voting age, more aging Liberals turn into Conservatives. These Conservatives have Liberal children. Then old Conservatives die, and the cycle begins again. The net result is the same constant 1:1 ratio of Liberals to Conservatives.

And these hardcore criminals. Do you think they grew up in nice middleclass homes and one did simply decided to become criminals?
My point is that hardcore criminals simply are capitalists without any moral restrain to not dammage other people. And hardcore criminals will allways be found in extreme systems that make people suffer.
As a matter of fact, some even come from upper class homes. Spoiled brats turned heartless criminals.

Back to main topic:
Anyway just to clarify, I support some welfare, since I grew up, and have moved around mainly in societies without one. But the taxes shouldn't be that heavy a burden on the working man. Perhaps they can tax the rich more, or provide low pay jobs for the indigent instead of subsistence checks which some adults blow away on booze, drugs or gambling. (And when they do that, of course their kids will suffer.)

But then, perhaps the lack of a safety net will push some people into performing harder. None of my fathers' siblings ever had the chance for a formal college education in their youth, due to financial reasons. Today, 2 of my aunts are teachers. One of my uncles taught himself English by reading an English newspaper daily. He made good in business, and now his family lives in a villa with 2 maids. Another uncle had managed to send 2 of his kids through college, and my cousins are now in the US and working on getting their parents and siblings to follow them.

So in conclusion, I understand and emphatize with the fact that a lot of people are cursed with being born into poverty and what seems like a hopeless situation. But poverty in itself is no excuse for a wretched drug-filled existence. So what if you're not educated? You have your body! Surely you can do manual work? With hard work and the proper sucking up to the right people, anyone can go forward in life.

How does that work? What sort of chances do those living in utter poverty in Africa or Asia have? Backbreaking work for peanuts? Making tourist souvenirs? Yeah, they're really choosing to not take advantages of their chances  .
They also choose not to get an education, right? It's not like there's one school for hundreds, or thousands of children, that may be miles away, that they need to pay for with their meagre savings. It's not like they couldn't use the education they get there to start up a successful company.

That's bollocks. In fact, everything you have said is bollocks and purely anecdotal. The facts, statistics, studies, and everything else, tells a much different story.
