Why no Lithuanians as a civ?

Maybe a stupid idea, but what about the Austro-Hungarian Empire? I know that it was a mixture nations (like America, wich exists in Civ), but its importance was great for so long, and the two main nations in it (Austria and Hungary) had a great cultural importance on their own, too, before the union.

Austria is a bonus civ in the Conquest expansion

I can't speak for Finnish culture, but I know they are not related to Scandinavia linguistically

It's linguistically related to Hungary. Go figure...

It's not part of Russia.

No, but it used to be...

id rather see them than the hitties or sumerians!

Amazing. You clearly have no regard for what makes a civ important if you think these Civs should go.

Poland I would actually like to see but Lithuania!?
Nethertheless both these civs were as of nothing compared to the historical and cultural contribution of Hittites and Sumer as well as their inventions and ideas.

I'd rather see the two of them over the Hitties and Sumerians myself, but that is only because of my heritage.

Firaxis did good by including these over the Poles/Lithuanians.

BTW: If there ever are included in future expansions or editions of the game, I think that they should be joined together as one civilization. It is in my opinion that the height of both cultures came with the union of my Lithuanian Mother and Polish Father and culminated with the birth of me. :) it has been downhill eversince.

Seriously, I do think that the so-called golden age of both peoples were during the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth.
