Why is it always the good people who get ill , suffer and die young? Why don't murderers or rapists get cancer or anything?

Two members on the GeorgeHarrison.com official message board.. one of them died of cancer, and the other one is battling cancer right now... they're very nice people... why them and not somebody who deserves it?

A lot of bad people do have bad things happen to them, and most good people don't have really, really bad things happen to them. We just remember it more when bad people get away with it, and good people get hurt.

We live in an evil world. No one ever said life would be fair.

1: Religious apologists say it is because suffering is a fundamental part of life, which defines the "test" that people have to go through to determine worthiness.

2: Other people might be inclined to argue that God has absolutely nothing to do with who dies or not. It's a matter of determinism. Person 'a' is born with disease 'b', and that's it. In another case, person 'b' is dying because he smokes too much. Reality, in this sense, is largely a machine. God had nothing to do with it.

3: Other people would like to say it's the <insert minority here>'s fault.

Either way, just try not to dwell on it. Yes, it sucks. But so does reality. Just be grateful for what you have.

Because I'm sure a lot of them do. The mass murderers and serial killers you generally only hear about because they do it for a long time. Thus, those who get cancer and die young don't accomplish anything, and so you don't hear about it.

On the other hand, our rather ******** media loves to plaster useless sympathy stories all over the place. That's why you hear about little Jimmy and his Leukemia.
