Why?

What good people, where? There aren't any.

Luke 18:19
"Why do you call me good?" Jesus answered. "No one is good—except God alone."
Teller is a good person.

I just don't see how stuff like cancer can really be the fault of us messing up. Seems like a bit of a cop-out answer.

Why aren't the punishments in proprtion to the crime?

Why is it always the good people who get ill , suffer and die young? Why don't murderers or rapists get cancer or anything?

If you look at it from a Buddhist perspective, they are paying for the sins they commited in this or past lives. They could've been murderers or rapists in their past lives and now they have to suffer in this life, just as those who are murderers and rapists in this life will suffer because of their crimes in this life or the next. This way Buddhists dismissed suffering as a part of life and learn to overcome it. We can not be free of suffering until we have get rid of all our earthly desires.

He didn't create people that way. We messed up.

better question: why would god create something that could fall? and if god knows all then why were there no safety measures put into place?

Because people forget about the bad people who die young and the good people that die old because that's what people like to expect.

We remember things which we believe to be out of the ordinary better.

Actually, those who do wrong die much more often than those who do well. Shootings, drug overdoses, heart attacks, blood clots, etc. A good Puritan life would keep you quite safe.

Because good people die young, bad people die in the mid-ages... and the best people die much later than everybody else.

Because there's no cure for the cancer, maybe...

The only question worth persuing is "Why shouldnt 'the good' get cancer and die young?"

Oh wait, it's already there.

I'm not Bill Gates tho.

On Topic:

It may seem that way, because the media splatters sympathetic stories all over the place, while the bad guys get no mention of all. The media is a corrupt thing, it's impossible to get an exact story from them. You have to be there to understand. It may seem that it is always good people, because of how the media portrays it. But, know this, there are many bad people or future bad people suffering at the moment, we just don't know about it.

Whenever you find yourself asking why, remember the real answer is a question itself...

Why not?
