Someone check to see if I have this right.

Seattle hasnt played Carolina head-to-head.

Seattle would be 10-2 in the NFC (if they drop both games)

Carolina would be 9-3 in the NFC (if they win both games)

The New York Giants lost to Seattle, thus they can't win homefield, either.

Chicago is the only team that can take homefield advantage from Seattle. They currently have only one NFC loss, and they haven't played them head-to-head.

Obviously, the second playoff bye week is still up for grabs in the NFC.

Tony Dungy's son died yesterday. While I might appear callow to bring this up, what effect does this have on the Colts?

Is there really a "rally around" movement in sports when tragedy strikes (as if that would make up for his loss)?

I heard about him. 18 years old, found dead in his appartment. Around Christmas time, jeez that's a terrible loss.

I saw/ heard, and it is absolutely horrible.

If my son died (no I don't have a son), I would be crushed. I can have a hard time getting things together, when an older relative dies. I think a younger relative would be worse and an offspring would be the worst.

If I were him, I certainly wouldn't be able to concentrate on coaching.

I think he might take game off. I don't know, he might need it with son dying and all.
